Yes, the goal is the same, although it can be realized in
different "flavors", regardless if you call it "Nirvana",
"Ascension", "Maha Samadhi" etc.  Although there is no such thing
as a final goal.

To grow spiritually, to come more in congruence (attain oneness
with) God or ones Higher Self, to increase ones capacity to love
and serve life.  This process can be slow or fast or not take
place at all.
