Bruce- you mentioned that Steiner was eventually vindicated by
Krishnamurti. I would like to have your source for this statement- not that
I doubt your veracity, but if I use it myself would need to know where it
came from. As I understood the Steiner problem of the time and quoting from
Ransom's TS History- 'Dr. Steiner had refused admission of individuals and
Lodges which did not work in the methods he considered best for the German
Section. In conjunction with the German Section Executive, he had
unconstitutionally expelled from the National Society memebers belonging
also to the Order of the Star in the East (see Titteilunger, March 1913).
Such expulsion was invalid, as no memebr can be expelled for his opinions.'
(p.398-9).

I recall seeing copies of two letters Besant wrote to the German Section
that pointed out their error and requesting a reversal of the ruling which
they refused to do. (I do not have the reference for that to hand, but it
was in a copy of The Theosophist and probaly around 1912).

As for Eldon's comments- we have an appropriate expression in Australia
that seems very appropriate here- 'Good on yer mate'. I could not agree
more! The only expression of mannerly conduct that ought to prevail is the
unwritten rule: 'Do not I beg of you, denigrate persons who are not in a
position to defend themselves!'
