April 30th 1998 PSYCHISM BASHING Far from "bashing" HPB does a tremendous job in ISIS, her Articles, and the S D in EXPLAINING IT. If we insist on not studying what she and the Masters offer on the subject, how can we know if we use such powers wisely ? How do we know what actual dangers lie there, and how to meet them, or to "protect" ourselves. If Theosophy issues many CAUTIONS, it is not for any other reason than to give us due and early warning. I feel that ought to we cleared up. Without knowledge we are in danger. In the days of HPB there was Spiritualism which largely consisted in the "Worship of the Dear Departed." and, also Spiritualists hoped to be able to "contact the Spirit" of those "Dear Departed." The facts concerning the Astral Plane and Kama-loca that Theosophy speaks of in detail were not palatable to the Spiritualists of those days, and hence the did not want to consider that what Theosophy offered could be true. The same problem continues today. Without information and some consideration those who "visit" the "spiritual (?) plane" of "channel" are in a great deal of danger. And that's about all. I do have a number of pretty good quotations culled from various Theosophical sources for anyone who is interested in reviewing them -- on this subject.
