I'm no fan of CWL's ideas, but this so called "time honored tradition" is not
taken seriously by any occult students except for a few ineffectual wackos.
There is not one shred of experiental evidence that celibacy in any way
improves either ability or wisdom.  On the contrary, the available evidence
from history would seem to indicate that it only leads to self-righteousness
at best and insanity at worst.  The study of the celibate is the study of
pathology at its worst.
