I think Richtay has clearly laid out what the problem is when we read and
try to explain/interpret written material.

If we keep in mind that HPB's and other inspired writings are meant to help
us go beyond the written words and try to understand the reality behind
them, then our attention would focus on going beyond the words rather than
hanging on to them and try to interpret as well as we can.

This tendency to hang on to the written material is a trap that many have
fallen and hopefully if we keep ourselves fully aware of it, we are less
likely to be more sure of HPB or anyone else wrote. Of course when we reach
the Adeptic level and know truth first hand, then everything will become
crystal clear. Until then, all we can do is to do the best we can and help
each other, and hope we will have first hand knowledge at some time in future.
