On the I-CHING - the "Book of CHANGES."

This appears to be a study in the law of Karma, and, cycles that
recur under Karma--the law of similarities. In the SECRET
DOCTRINE the operation of cycles in evolution is endlessly
depicted.

In SD Vol. 1, pp 440-1 HPB gives the purpose of Confucius's
writing on this subject.

SD I 362-3 she states that the art of divination is now degraded.
Apparently some persons who are curious desire to profit from
whatever may be obtained, right, or wrong. As, usually, this is
not their consideration. Consequently such results as they may
witness or secure are biased, and liable to be faulty or
misinterpreted.

Apparently (in most cases toady) the art of this type depends on
a psychic sensitivity that some individuals possess.

However, observation shows that it (in such cases at hand) it is
not 100% reliable, because the INNER EGO is not operating and
supervising the process. Only an Advanced Adept, who has to
poser to look into the eternal record of the AKASA is able to see
directly what the past, present and future are - and before such
an one, the "future" is said to "stand like an opened book" - FOR
THE REASON THAT HE IS THE MASTER of WISDOM.

That is how I understand the matter
