Yes, I think I can sense what you are getting at.  It's not just 'over
there' in Kosovo, it's 'over here' as well.

There is a relevant passage attributed to HPB in "The Collected Writings":

"The first necessity for obtaining self-knowledge is to become profoundly
conscious of ignorance; to feel with every fibre of the heart that one is
*ceaselessly* self deceived." (CW vol 8, p108)
