Re: H.P.B.'s "fiction" Articles and Tales.'
Is any Theosophy therein?

Dallas offers :

I do not think H.P.B. wrote anything that was not useful to the
THEOSOPHICAL MOVEMENT.

I would like to observe that H.P.B. not only published the CAVES
AND JUNGLES OF HINDOOSTAN, (written in Russian for a Moscow
magazine published by Katkoff) And, incidentally, her style of
writing in Russian has been favorably compared with contemporary
writers in Russian such as Count Leo Tolstoy.

She also published numerous other articles many in Russian and
published there, as she herself said this was to earn a living.
Including NIGHTMARE TALES there was a larger series, including
THE BEWITCHED VIOLIN, THE MAGIC MIRROR, and, a series on THE
PEOPLE OF THE BLUE MOUNTAINS.. Also there are letters and
articles dealing with the occult and the psychic realm, so close
to us here written by H.P.B., and available in scattered sources.
There she reveals her intimate knowledge of, and power to control
as an Adept, of the invisible side of nature. Those will be
found to contain illustrations and procedures concerning some of
the propositions THEOSOPHY offers concerning the OCCULT and
INVISIBLE Astral World that surrounds us. See also: ISIS
UNVEILED, the KEY TO THEOSOPHY, the SECRET DOCTRINE, and many of
her articles, etc...

Entertaining and startling as they may be, they are not for
entertainment only. The serious student discovers therein and
draws from them information that is most valuable.

They can be read along with Bulwer-Lytton's ZANONI, or his other
novel: A STRANGE STORY. In one place at least H.P.B. recommends
Rider Haggard's : SHE and AESHYA , where reincarnation is
fictionalized, as it is also in KING SOLOMON'S MINES.

Many of these startling articles of H.P.B. are still in print in
an anthology titled: THE TELL-TALE PICTURE GALLERY.
Publisher: International Book House, and later, Theosophy
Company for the ULT in Bombay ]

Re: H.P.B.'S COLLECTED LETTERS

I see that some postings have just been made concerning H.P.B.'S
LETTERS and correspondence which is well over 100 years old .
Mr. John Cooper of Australia was accumulating this material and
preparing it for publication. Part of the project was almost
completed and further work remained to be done, but it was cut
short by his untimely death (May 1988). I understand that his
old friend, Dr. Gregory Tillett will be continuing that work and
has it in hand.

Students who are interested in finding where some of H.P.B.'s
letters are, could refer to A MODERN PANARION, THE MAHATMA
LETTERS TO Mr. A. P. Sinnett, LETTERS OF H, P. Blavatsky to Mr.
A. P. Sinnett; Additional letters of H.P.B. were published in
the PATH (New York) in 1894--6 Vols 9, 10. ( 1895 - 1896 ) as a
series. We also find that Mr. Jinarajadasa edited two series of
LETTERS by H.P.B., in two books : H.P.B. SPEAKS , TPH Adyar. I
believe that one or two will also be found in Countess
Wachmeister's book REMINISCENCES OF H.P.B. I also see a number of
H.P.B.'s letters are made reference to in M. Gomes' THEOSOPHY IN
THE NINETEENTH CENTURY -- An Annotated Bibliography. [ 1994,
Garland Publishing Inc, New York ]

If one peruses the many magazine pages of THEOSOPHIST (1879 -
1892 ), LUCIFER (1887 - 1896 ), and the PATH (1896 - 1897 )
one may find several more letters that H.P.B. wrote and
published there. Mention of such letters will also be found in
Sylvia Cranston's H.P.B. THE EXTRAORDINARY LIFE AND INFLUENCE OF
H. P. BLAVATSKY -- Dutton. This is a fully documented Biography.

Best wishes,

Dallas
