Dear Friend M----,

When one reaches the end of material analogies, one is still
faced wit the question

WHAT CAUSED IT?

How did it get to be?

Does it have existence?

Next, Let's ask:

How is it possible for me to consider its existence or its
non-existence.?

My personal conclusion is that if I am able to think of such
"things" or "non-things" there is in me a department of
consciousness (or thinking) that is of the same mysterious
nature as that which I am questing and questioning. If not
partially consubstantial, then where can the connection be?

If there were no link, then how could I even think of, or posit
and consider it? Seems to me the mind has breadth and depth
immeasurable by ordinary 3 or multi-dimensional methods -- if so
it is pretty all-encompassing.

Theosophy says that the human brain-mind is a reflection of the
higher mind (or BUDDHI-MANAS) and that this is truly immortal and
UNIVERSAL on a Kosmic scale. Hence it is considered that our
"mind" is a "ray" or as "reflection" of the PURUSHOTTAMA (or the
Universal SOUL of al that is in manifestation, and probably has
its own connections to the ABSOLUTENESS. Quit a large portion to
chew on?

Example: if the MONAD by definition, an indissoluble compound of
SPIRIT / MATTER, then MIND is a 3rd factor and enables "us" to
look at all the various combinations of the interaction of Spirit
in and on Matter (and vice versa)..

Yet we call the Mind a "tool" and, practically we direct it to
an area of thought-work. WE SET IT TO WORK. So WHO ARE "WE ?"
If we are superior to the Mind? Are we not able to master and
control the mind? If so, How?

Have you ever read PATANJALI's YOGA-SUTRAS ? Mr. Judge made an
excellent translation. May I send you a copy? Or it may be
"on-line" at BLAVATSKY NET under the list of Judge books.

Re: "Matter is Eternal"

It would seem to me that "something" and
"nothing" are, in some manner, "concept"-related,
both being "relative concepts" rather than
"Absolute" in Theosophic terms. So seems that
thoughts about "true nothing" seem nothing more
than mental juggling on this "something"-level
we're generally familiar with.
