Dear Vincent:

Glad the survey helped. If you desire anything more then ask.

If you study Theosophy to see if it is valuable, as you ought,
then this is an illustration of the prime tenet -- FIND OUT FOR
YOURSELF. As I think I wrote: Theosophy is an historical report.
It conveys information that anyone can use. It is innate in the
world and available to all human minds. Essentially each student
has to take the responsibility of studying and proving for
themselves.

By all means use such information as might be provided from any
source.
The intuition is a prime faculty and is said in theosophy to be
derived from one of the highest "principles" in Man's nature (the
BUDDHI -- or WISDOM) The only problem with flashes of INTUITION
is that they are filtered to our waking consciousness through the
medium of the "desire-mind" (or Lower Manas) . Such "flashes"
ought to be seriously compared with what we have already
ascertained to be FACTS IN NATURE.

I say this because in is generally noticed that we easily can
delude ourselves. When in doubt seek a companion mind to discuss
with.. Impartiality and universality are the trade marks of true
intuitions.

The Kabala is a valuable book. But its history shows it was
first rewritten from memory by Rabbi Ezra in the 1st Century
after every copy had been destroyed by the Roman invasion of
Palestine. In the 15th/16th century it was re-written by several
Rabbis if Spain, and made to use allegories and views from
Christian mysticism, so as to comply with the powers of the time.
Since the it has been translated into many languages and
consequently bears the impress of their minds as well.

Mme. Blavatsky speak frequently of the ORIGINAL ORIENTAL KABALA
in her book ISIS UNVEILED. The SECRET DOCTRINE published 11
years later epitomizes the teachings that repose in that Oriental
kabala -- she there explains some of the basic laws of the
Universe and our world, and indicates their practical use in a
smaller book intended for students THE KEY TO THEOSOPHY. For the
mystic students who desire to study their own nature and follow
an old "path" to self-perfection she wrote THE VOICE OF THE
SILENCE.

Best wishes,

Dallas

Dallas,

Thank you for your detailed reply. My interest in theosophy is
more,
and more being satisfied by explorations of Kabbalah, which was
given
only brief mention in the article. The whole presentaion just
seemed
to be posed as such a dogma, I couldn't identify with theosophy
proposed that way.

Theosophy for me is my natural bent, and I am not really seeking
from
literary sources. I rely on intuition for lack of a better word.

Thanks again,

Vincent
