Was Koot Hoomi actually Dr. Nishikanta Chattopadhyaya?

Was Koot Hoomi actually Dr. Nishikanta Chattopadhyaya?

I see Steve Stubbs is now a member of UniversalSeekers so I will ask him
directly on this forum:

(1) Steve, do you still maintain that Koot Hoomi was actually Dr. Chattopadhyaya?

(2) Furthermore, what about Koot Hoomi's whereabouts on the Indian subcontinent
during the period 1880-1885?

In previous discussions you said you accepted that Koot Hoomi was actually
& physically at Amritsar and the Golden Temple in 1880. [See Mahatma Letter
No. 4]

If one is willing to accept at face value (a) the Mahatma Letters, (b) the
letters of HPB and (c)the testimony of eyewitnesses who said they met Koot
Hoomi, a chronological survey can be constructed of Koot Hoomi's whereabouts
during the years 1880 thru 1885.

Mary K. Neff did such a (incomplete) survey in her article titled "Master
Koot Hoomi's Travels". This is reprinted in THE READERS' GUIDE TO THE MAHATMA
LETTERS by G. Linton and V. Hanson.

A few examples only.

On Oct. 20, 1880, KH said he was in his room (in his house) in a Kashmir
valley.

In March 1881, KH said he was in "an unknown valley amid the crags and glaciers
of Terich-Mir."

>From Oct 1881 to early 1882 HPB describes where KH was:

"K. H. or Koot-Hoomi is now gone to sleep for three months to prepare during
this Sumadhi or continuous trance state for his initiation, the last but
one, when he will become one of the highest adepts. Poor K. H. his body
is now lying cold and stiff in a separate square building of stone (1) with
no windows or doors in it, the entrance to which is effected through an
underground passage from a door in Toong-ting (reliquary, a room situated
in every Thaten (temple) or Lamisery; and his Spirit is quite free. An
adept might lie so for years, when his body was carefully prepared for it
beforehand by mesmeric passes etc. It is a beautiful spot where he is now
in the square tower. The Himalayas on the right and a lovely lake near
the lamisery. His Cho-han (spiritual instructor, master, and the Chief
of a Tibetan Monastery takes care of his body. M . . also goes occasionally
to visit him."

Scores of other primary sources could be cited documenting the whereabouts
of KH during the years 1880-1885.

Steve, my question to you is HOW MUCH of this evidence do YOU accept at
face value?

Do you accept HPB's and KH's testimony that KH's body was "lying cold and
stiff in a separate square building of stone" somewhere in Himalayan regions??

I look forward to your answers as they will help me understand how you might
deal with the evidence relevant to the title of this email.

I am currently transcribing some relevant quotes from Dr. Chattopadhyaya's
account of his stay in Europe. These statements will be posted later to
this forum as well as to other forums.
