Dear Friends:

Could a further observation on this be made?

H.P.B. in ISIS UNVEILED frequently refers to the EASTERN KABALLA.

She then states that the one (Kaballa) which the Hebrew Rabbis
had and used (before its revision and Christianizing -- by
several celebrated Rabbis {see Theosophical Glossary, pp 271-2)
during the period between the 12th and 14th centuries, was a
portion of this original.

She also states that in India, the old and ancient texts, such as
the VEDAS and the UPANISHADS, the BRAHMA-SUTRAS and the
ARANYAKAS, the PURANAS, and the ITEHASAS, and many others
comprise a vast multitude of ancient Sanskrit texts on almost
every department of human learning. These texts were, and are
still preserved. This preservation is not only physically, but
by oral transmission.

Many local Indian publishers have reprinted these in their
original Sanskrit format and are available in many of the Indian
University libraries and Sanskrit departments at various colleges
there. I would venture to say that the LIBRARY OF CONGRESS, the
CHICAGO UNIVERSITY LIBRARY and the NEW YORK PUBLIC LIBRARY.

In effect India was, and is, still the preserver of ancient lore
and adheres most closely in its Esotericism to that. The
Exoteric disputations (EYE DOCTRINES) are surface affairs, and do
not represent the actual depths of the ancient HEART DOCTRINE.
It is due to the efforts of THEOSOPHY in the late 19th century
that sanskrit studies were revived and encouraged to grow again.
Here in the West, we know relatively little of those texts and
the work that is still being done with and in them.

The bridge between information, or "knowledge, and data," and
WISDOM, is an application of that knowledge. There are here two
broad areas of practice. There is the selfish use of knowledge
whereby other beings, humans, etc. are made subject to the will
and orders of some other who has acquired learning and
intellectual control over the LAWS OF NATURE.

The concept that NATURE IS and CONTAINS ALL, is a crucial one.
The second concept is that the MIND of any human is capable of
piercing up and down the seven planes of being and recording in
its memory the experiences, observations and thoughts encountered
or experienced there.

The use an application of her laws in a generous and charitable
manner leads to assisting her in her brotherly and supportive
work. None of us would be alive unless Nature supported us in an
interactive and cooperative manner. We all often forget this in
our exuberant sense of the " Personal-I- Self."

So, Theosophically speaking, the whole point of balance is the
capacity of "free-choice" available to every human. It is:
whether we use our knowledge for the benefit of all, or for the
further support of our isolated Lower Self -- the Self if the
"embodied mind."

In the VOICE OF THE SILENCE it is said that "The Self of Matter
and the SELF OF SPIRIT will never meet. One of the twain will
disappear. There is no place for both." This need to be thought
over most carefully. The whole of the "Heart Doctrine" as made
available to us through the VOICE is directed at asking our
consideration of the application we will make of such knowledge
as we may acquire.

No true "East Indian Chela" would desire to be guilty of
contradicting Theosophy, providing of course, if they are able to
recognize the SOURCE (S.D. I 272-3) from which it emanates.

Here in the West, where for nearly 1200 years we have been
imposed on, and our knowledge and wisdom has been obscured by
religious unproven dogmas, we have difficulty in disentangling
the true from the false.

This is of course only my opinion, and may be challenged. But
any student of theosophy who regularly uses THE SECRET DOCTRINE
and ISIS UNVEILED will, using the INDEX, be able to verify these
statements.

Best wishes,

Dallas

Thanks Bill for some common sense in this forum. As far I am
concern, trying
to understand the Stanzas is like trying to understand Bill
Clinton or Henry
Kissenger real meaning of everything they say!! tricky task
indeed!!
The Stanzas are and always been, in my opinion and in the hindu's
mind
opinion, to the eastern metaphysical eyes only. The East Indian
mind is
capable to penetrate deeply into the Stanzas real meaning, and
capable to
unlock its mysteries in the right pronunciation and intonation of
its
verses. At the moment it is translated, the fohatic keys are
lost..that is
why the east indian chelas, even tough they respected HPB, they
protested
vigorously any translation of the Secret Doctrine, but the
Masters Will was
the last will..it is the same with the Bible, as only a
Cabalistic can open
its secrets, as I had the opportunity to observe first hand.
