Dennis, every book has some worth, but one should be aware of the fact that
even the exoteric, outer history of the Theosophical Movement is still to be
written - not to speak about the esoteric, inner history which would include
the office of a messenger of the Lodge.

I am sorry, that (good and right) questions you bring up about Judge and KT
will NOT be answered by the recommended books you mention.
Perhaps you should rather read G. Barborka's "HPB, Tibet and Tulku", which
is a good description how consciousness transfer works. That all gives a
hint to the successors of HP, esp. if you consider when HPB asks Judge in a
letter of 1889 (or 1890, writing from memory): Did you find your new chela?
Note also, that HPB discussed with Judge that a theosophical school, a seat
of learning should be established "in the West".

Note also, that Judge was actually dead in the last four years (as his
"first Indian body" died suddenly) and kept alive only by occult means (like
HPB, being dead since Wurzburg, 1887, kept alive also the last four years by
occult means). One can conclude that Judge was allowed to go, when his
special chela was ready. KT was never pledged (like Judge himself), Judge
knew KT since alonger time before and was aware who she was and allowed her
entrance into the highest degrees from the first day on.

A good source to find hints is the online version on the Pasadena Homepage
Purucker's "Dialogues", the Transactions of the KTMG degree, one above the
ES. F.e. you will find that the pupils in Point Loma, were KT reorganized
and established HPB's Mystery school felt that KT, when she spoke in the
Temple, turned masculine like HPB (may fo the former Lodnon pupils of HPB
being there - the majority of them was going from London to PL during KT's
world crusade).
For Theosophists uninformed about higher occult training about the tulku
power this may be recognized as mediumship. But there exists also
mediatorship, which is different and far higher.

If we would have been so lucky and earned a true biography about KT, we
would understand many things much better. Perhaps including Robert Crosbie,
who today is today recommended as a good example to follow.
Hope, this helps a little bit to give you an idea where the answers to your
good questions are to be find.
Frank
