Robert:
Hi Eldon Tucker,
thank you for your quick answer. I didn't know that A. Bailey used this
mantram in her school. I guess she took it from the Esoteric School of the
TS where she was a member of since 1918. The mantram was in use much earlier
though, it was also used in a German translation from 1904 onwards for a few
years in the German section of the ES of the TS when Rudolf Steiner was its
head. That's what I know about the 'history' of this mantram but I still ask
myself if it was an old Indian mantram which was translated/adapted by Mme
Blavatsky.

Frank:
This mantram is from Steiner's solely record of an "esoteric class", held on
October 24th, 1905 in Berlin. To be found in his book "Anweisungen für eine
esoterische Stunde" [Instructions for an Esoteric Class"], 1979, p.85. There
is no mention about the source, only a general statement that these mantrams
he gave were "taken out from the spiritual world" (p. 85).
I don't believe that Steiner has it from HPB, as the most he taught was from
other sources.
Note that every E.S. meeting was opened by him with the mantram: "The
Masters of Harmony and Accord are speaking through me".
It was new to me that AAB also made use from Steiner, it's an interesting
hint.
