Dear C---------a:

I think I replied? Perhaps I forget.

Jargon is either invented to conceal or to convey well known
ideas in a few words. Science and mathematics have invented
their own. To understand one has to learn those.

If people are excluded from learning truths it may either for
their protection (by the WISE) or to keep them ignorant and
fearful (by Priests).

Theosophy presents a clearer view of age-old facts and truths
about the laws operating in nature -- than orientalists and
apologists do -- it also presents evidence to support those
concepts. ISIS UNVEILED and The SECRET DOCTRINE by H.P.Blavatsky
are full of that evidence.

The original texts of the older religions all show the same
pattern of teaching. The basis ethics will be found to be
similar to what is said say, in the SERMON ON THE MOUNT. This
can be checked by any one now that translations (beware of
translator's personal biases) are more freely available. Read
the BHAGAVAD GITA (Krishna - Hinduism) or the DHAMMAPADA
(Buddha) the ethical injunctions are all similar: do good, cease
from evil and selfishness. Make yourself wise and serve others.
Treat the world as your FAMILY. Be impartial and grow into
universality. Etc., etc.

Some people by inclination or inertia desire to stay "ignorant."
Others in whom the fire of discovery burns, desire to find the
truth even if it takes all one's life. Each will eventually have
to find out why they are constituted in that manner. Each one of
us "makes ourselves into what we now are." Our past choices give
us our present character and environment. Karma and great Nature
see to that.

Theosophy directs us to consider that UNIVERSALITY is
immeasurable, yet it exists. We are a CONSCIOUS UNIT in that
vast and sensitive WHOLE.

All forms and beings seem to live supported by vast and yet
intricate LAWS which nature contains innately. Some or easier to
be seen than others. Those that are the most difficult are those
we might term the ethical and moral effects of our own choosing.
And yet it is precisely these which are of the utmost value to
Mankind.

Mans Spirit/Soul is an IMMORTAL being, and Reincarnation is the
process whereby it is continuously learning and improving its
character and capacity, talents, or, the lack of them. It is all
done by free-choice. The MIND is the Free Ego in Man and is
independent at all times of its past as well as its environment,
even though those may weigh greatly on it and can be said to
influence it. No one can really place "blame" on another. They
have always had the opinion to reject any "influence."
Interestingly secular law in all lands recognize this as a
fundamental principle.

Theosophy teaches that all beings from the sub-atom to the
immense GALAXY are animated by an indwelling SPIRIT. This
Spiritual "somethig" is eternal and immortal, and it is without
variance the basis of all existence. This makes as a practical
effect the condition and power of UNIVERSAL BROTHERHOOD possible.
The various "grades, say between a grain of and a MAHATMA or a
BUDDHA or a CHRIST are marks of the progressive development of
intelligence.

If the religions teach and invoke these concept as ones to be
used by their parishioners, then they are inline with Theosophy,
but if they do not, then -- they are only partial exponents of
the facts of God and Nature. To be valuable, a "faith" has to
provide for free investigation, and free choice. If it is
exclusive, then why so?

Either God is universal and has had good reason for permitting
other "faiths" to survive in practice or the priests are wrong
and have other motives for their exclusions. It is up to such
organizations to explain their choice of limits.

Sorry if I am belaboring this,

Best wishes,

Dallas

Dear Dallas,

You said, "The jargon invented by the churches does not begin to
explain
things in psychology as theosophy does, nor are they impersonal
and assist
inquirers regardless of race, creed or sect."

Which would describe those jargon inventors...i made up the title
of
pro-religion activist, as it seemed to best describe those
religious sect
type people.

I use Pro-religion, for those that subscribe to a faith that
is not their own, let alone not one that is universal; and i use
the word
activist for the fact that most "church-goers" seem to have an
easy time
speading the word about how the rest of humankind should live
[not that they
practice what they preach].

They also find it easy to change from one
denomination to another, when they find it more convenient to
alter their
beliefs to go along with their present lifstyle.

So, my intention was to take a good guess as to what exactly
makes a person
want to believe in something that is not universal and
impartial...

...and i can only figure that it's either selfishness or fear [or
both] at
the foundation of the behaviour. Why else would their be so many
unsatisfied
people searching for...something...they don't quite know
what...the lost
sheep...

People must not even trust themselves, or think not so highly of
themselves,
to not know the difference between what is true and what is not
true.

What are your thoughts on this?
