Dear Monica:

I would say that you would have to provide our readership with
much more than "labels" (Sanskrit or others).

Those who study the Gayatri do not necessarily apply the same
meanings to the prefacing words of the invocation.

7 stages, planes, conditions of Consciousness, levels of
progress, etc.. they all correspond.

But in order to comment on what you write one would have to know
what definitions you are using or are applying to those.

Can you expand ?

Thanks

Dallas

Subject: Theos-World Theosophy and the Gayatri

I have often wondered if the Gayatri mantra and the theosophical
concept of the seven planes of consciousness have something in
common.

What do you think based on these statements from this website,
http://www.hronline.com/aryasamaj/mother.html?

The SAMPUTA GAYATRI has the the 7 VAHYRAITIS at the beginning: OM
BHU, OM BHUVA, OM SWAH, OM MAHA, OM JANAH, OM TAPAH, OM SATYAM.
These
seven VAHYRAITIS performed in PRANAYAMA help us cross the seven
oceans, the seven heavens, the seven levels of Consciousness by
meditating on the seven Chakras.

Monica
