Dear Friend: N etc...

When we get into metaphysics, the laws and limits of our
conditioned material existence change and may vanish-- but they
leave, always, a trace. Or, we could not grasp after them.

Let me get at your questions:

---------------------

Just a question one might have but it would seem the principles ,
if we are
to regard them as Eternal would never change, per say , but it is
"we" the
monads that change our relationship to those principles as we
progress and
evolve.

===============================

DTB	THERE ARE MANY "ETERNALS" in co-existence. They always
interact. Karma is the result and binds them.

The "principles" are ways of distinguishing none set of
activities from the others.

For instance THINKING is NOT emoting. Emotion, desire, passion,
etc.. are all expressions of FEELING. Mind analyses the
components of living and its dynamics.

Emotion cannot THINK.

But the Mind can think about emotions -- where they come from,
how powerful they, are, what they can do, and whether they are
beneficial or not. "Good and evil" fall under the classification
of our "Passions and desires."

We can study the LAWS OF NATURE by observation and deduce their
probable results using the logic faculty of our minds.

==========================================

Is time eternal?
Does time change at its root?

==================================

DTB	Time by definition has beginning and end, hence it is
finite.

DURATION on the other hand is indefinite, or rather we might say
infinite.

I would call DURATION the root of time. Universes begin, and
then go to sleep. They are time-bound. But DURATION is
timeless.

Manifestation starts under Karma at a specific time. A Baby is
conceived and then born at a specific time, but that time is very
limited when compared with centuries and millennia. The
existence of the babe within time is never disputed, and the
lipika record its progress as an immortal incarnation of one of
the innumerable Rays of the ONE SELF.

=========================================

Does a ray of sunlight change when the sun is not shining?

DTB	That sounds a lot like the Zen: :What is the sound of one
hand clapping ?" or "If there is no one around to hear a tree
fall in a forest, does it make any noise ?"

But there is a difference as we are dealing here with the limits
of physical actions in limited time and limited space and motion.

If the ray of Sunlight starts from an objective SUN and later
that Sun dies and is extinguished -- the ray being propelled into
infinity continues, does it not, logically ?

A tree puts forth seeds and these may sprout. Later the mother
tree dies. Do the new plants also die ?
No. They continue alive and perpetuate new trees. The material
used by the mother tree may even then be incorporated partially
into her progeny. Nature wastes nothing.

======================================

If we equate rays with principles then , where do they go if the
core essence is not shining?
Just some thoughts on the matter.

=========================================

DTB	But RAYS are RAYS and represent points, shall we say, of
SPIRITUAL INFLUENCE. They may be on invisible or visible planes
of being. ( see S D I 157, II 596 )

How big is a MONAD ? In our terms it is indefinable, physically.
Yet as energy, and a center of Power with an individuality of its
own, perhaps on other planes (say the SPIRITUAL, it exists).
(see S D I 176-9, 319 - 334 )

These are paradoxes which our limited physical plane provides few
analogies to handle. But they have to be thought out.

EXAMPLE

NON-MANIFESTATION	THE ABSOLUTE	0

POINT OF NEUTRALITY -- LAYA

MANIFESTATION	SPIRIT -- MATTER -- MIND [ MONAD ]	3

INDIVIDUALITY PERMANENT

PERSONALITY DESIRES (Kama) -- LIFE ENERGY (Prana)
-- ASTRAL BODY -- PHYSICAL BODY	4
IMPERMANENT	___________________

Total	7

Only the physical is visible and tangible. The rest a re
metaphysical, essential as concepts and real as points of
operation and of perception.

The Organs of perception and the brain serve to transmit to the
Monad -- the real Man inside the events of the objective
personality outside in the world of material forms.

The world of forms, made up of Monads and atoms, molecules, cells
etc...constantly changes

The Worlds of force, energy and power although invisible, yet
they do not change and are the tools of the HIGHER SELF -- the
INNER SPIRITUAL EGO and the also this is called the REAL MAN.

I hope this helps

Dallas
