Re: Theos-World Seeing others as instruments of the devil

Paul,

You haven't lived right until you've been accused of being an Agent of the
Antichrist on Xtian television.

What I find so mystifying is why our fundamentalist brethren are so
incredibly afraid of inquiry. Could it be that their belief system is so
inherintly weak that they fear that if any light is thrown it will truly
disintegrate before their very eyes and leave them with nothing but darkness
and chaos?

And, could it be that deep down they know that reality is truly darkness and
chaos and all the spiritual blather and 19th century psuedo-Sanskrit they can
muster won't change it?

Being an instrument of the devil isn't all that bad a thing if it means a
willingness to ask the questions that people really don't want you to ask for
fear it may make them face a truth that they would like to avoid. And being
considered an instrument of the devil by those who are so consumed by fear is
a compliment, perhaps one of the highest compliments that a scholar can be
payed.

Chuck
