Robert Crosbie

During all the heated exchange of the last few days, Robert Crosbie's
name came up concerning his rift with Katherine Tingley. Mr Crosbie and
the ULT maintain that he withdrew from her association, while the other
side has insisted that he was expelled. In some minds this is a case
study for coverup, or so it seems.

Let me offer two rather personal case studies to illustrate a point.

1-I was in the U.S. Army Officer program at one time. It wasn't going
well. I gave a letter of resignation to my commanding officer which he
accepted. I was reduced in grade and sent to Viet Nam. When I finally got
to look at my actual records, my resignation was nowhere to be found.
Instead there was a notation that I had "been terminated from the
program."

2-When I left the Mormons I wrote a letter asking that my "name be
removed from the rolls of the Church" an adminisrative action requiring
no judicial decision. As I had been a High Priest and member of our local
Bishopric at the time of my departure, they tried me for cause and
eventually excommunicated me.

In both cases my version is that I quit and theirs is that I was
expelled. In a way both versions are correct, depending on the point of
view.

Could such have happened at the departure of Mr. Crosbie? Could he and
his legacy honestly believe that he walked out while at the same time the
Point Loma followers believe honestly that he was expelled. Why does one
side have to be lying? It's all a matter of perspective. Sort of the old
"You can't fire be, I quit!"

Just something to chew on.
