Yes, it was fair because good management practice
dictates that people be fired for reasons apparently
unrelated to the real reason.

I have heard that a high level manager in a certain
company refused to sign off on what he considered
fraudilent accounting statements which were doctored
to make the company look like a more attractive
acquisition than it really was. I am not an
accountant and theerfore will not comment on whether
he was justified in being a refusenik or not. This
fellow would obviously have no future at Enron or
Arthur Andersen. When he was fired, the cause was
that he did not hold his mouth right or part his hair
correctly or something like that. Nobody is going to
fire a man for acting ethically and refusing ro
particpate in fraud.
