Someone else. A British adventurer who actually studied, and, to a
degree, respected the cultures of the people he visited in the Middle
East and Africa. He wrote about many of his journeys, including one to
the city of Mecca while disguised as a Moslem. He also translated the
Arabian Nights and the Kama Sutra into English. A bit of web research
