Dear Annie:

You are right. But I would say no one is ever FORCED to adopt a view
to the exclusion of others. If we are truly humble, then we always
say to ourselves: "Perhaps someone knows better then I do. So let me
try and understand the meaning of anything offered. if I do not, then
let me inquire into it more.

Everyone of us visualizes "ultimates" in the best way we can
understand them.

But even then, when we realize that our view is limited, we search for
that which better expresses brotherhood, universality and
impersonality.

The only reason for that, I know, is to satisfy the idea that the
whole universe is ruled by Laws that play no "favourites" and cannot
be broken by any entity, regardless of how we may designate it.

In the case of "God," "He" did not make the Universe, and then stand
OUTSIDE it. He embodied himself in it. So theologians hold that God
is OMNIPRESENT ( presenting everything without exception. It is only
later that the Church desiring to explain evil devised "Satan" and
made this "archangel" the ADVERSARY and then placed "him": outside of
the Universe as an opponent to "God." But that does not explain the
reason why in the BIBLE "God" is shown both as a "benevolent" entity,
and as a 'vengeful," and an "authoritarian" entity that tortures and
crushes his opponents and the "heretics." [ Note "Heretic" in its
origin simply means a questioner. The questioner has the right to
freely challenge the dogmas of the Church. Just like Luther did. ]

It is also interesting that in Christianity we are not encouraged to
go to the original sources: to GREEK and Aramaic texts which were the
least tampered with by interested and opinionated translators and
clerics with a personal interest to perpetuate. All the texts in
English or French or modern languages have been "improved" and made
"orthodox" by their various translators. How can we trust them ?

In fact how can we trust anything? But that is a study in itself, as
we need impersonal tools with which to approach any authoritative
statement and verify it.

If you have Mr. Crosbie's ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS AT AN INFORMAL "OCEAN"
CLASS, then on pp. 91-3 there is an interesting answer one could
consult.

In other words we cannot hide our faults, nor our successes and best
points. they are always "out there" in the "Astral Light" and the
"Akasa" and every spiritual entity has access to them.

Best wishes,

Dallas

Hi Dallas,
This first statement is interesting. Maybe some HAVE to personalize
"God"
because they cannot grasp what is basically unknowable?
