Dear Friend:

The description is inaccurate.

The THEOSOPHICAL SOCIETY was launched in the fall of 1875. Mme.
Blavatsky,
Col. Olcott, and Mr. Wm. Q. Judge were, of the 17 original founders
the only ones who remained faithful to the aims of the THEOSOPHICAL
MOVEMENT .

Its objects are 3:

1.	To form a nucleus for Universal Brotherhood,

2.	To study ancient literature, religious, philosophical and
scientific and show that there is great value in them, and

3.	To investigate the hidden mysteries of nature under every aspect
possible, and the spiritual and psychic powers latent in man.

Of you want the broad scope of the THEOSOPHICAL MOVEMENT then read the
book Mme. Blavatsky wrote: the KEY TO THEOSOPHY . It purpose,
philosophy, knowledge and some of its most valuable practical
applications are detailed for all to read. [ This is available "on
line" at http://www.blavatsky.net for reading or for downloading. ]

Rudolph Steiner was a very prominent German member of the THEOSOPHICAL
SOCIETY but had nothing to do with its original promotion and the
creative work of providing a philosophy for people like all of us to
consider. Mme. Blavatsky was the prime source of this effort.

The THEOSOPHICAL MOVEMENT and the "Golden Dawn" are two separate
entities.

In 1877 ISIS UNVEILED was published by H P B and this contains a
marvelous survey from modern times back into antiquity of the evidence
available in regard to the mysteries of Nature' hidden forces and the
hidden psychic and spiritual power latent in man. It reads like a
most interesting travelogue in those areas and it is also available
"on line" (same source as above).

In 1888 The SECRET DOCTRINE was published by Mme. Blavatsky. It
provides the essential basis for understanding the philosophy of
evolution -- of worlds and galaxies as well as of humans, as they have
evolved race upon race over many millions of years, They are a
synopsis of the Wisdom available from the Libraries maintained since
aeons by the Great Lodge of Adepts. The facts of history given there
may well be compared with the more modern findings of Science. And in
the last 115 years many of the Theosophical statements have been
demonstrated to be true.

The Legend of ADAM and his inquisitive wife EVE, are used in mythology
to show how the early races of mankind acquired the intelligence of
mind and became thereafter responsible for the choice what they made.

In each human three lines of evolution will be found combined and
interlaced: 1. The SPIRITUAL, 2. the Intellectual/psychic, and 3.
the physical.

The spirit-soul in every human is held to be an immortal which ever
reincarnates as it grow wiser, using many bodies, but always the same
as to INDIVIDUALITY.

The whole of Nature is rules by equity -- laws that are fair and equal
for all.

This is a brief answer.

Best wishes,

Dallas

Hello everyone!

I was wandering through a used bookstore yesterday, and found a book
titled,
"Ancient Landmarks", written by Blavatsky and printed by the United
Lodge of
Theosophists. Of course, I just couldn't resist bringing it home with
me!
Giggle, grin! :) I also couldn't resist sending an email to a friend
to
ask him what he knew of Blavatsky's works - he is quite well read in
many
areas, but has concentrated primarily on The Golden Dawn studies. I
found
his perspective to be thought-provoking, and I would like to share
what he
wrote with you:

"I must confess a certain amount of ignorance when it comes to
Blavatsky. I
know she wrote a huge book called "The Secret Doctrine". I have never
read
it. I believe she also helped form the Theosophy movement with a guy
called
Rudolph Steiner and I have read some Steiner, many years ago. It had
to do
with there being seven basic stages and evolution passes us through
each of
these stages. Like first there was grass, then next is insects, then
animals - dogs, cats - then humans and then like "Supermen". That's a
real
brief summary and it's probably kinda off. But you get the idea."

I have 2 questions that I would like to ask for your opinions on:

#1 - What do you think of this description of Theosophy?
#2 - In what stage of evolution does Theosophy place things like the
biblical story of Adam and Eve? Has any progress been made in the
evolutionary stage of humanity since the creation of "the first man"?

Thank you!! :)

Love & Light to All,

Debbie :)
