Dear Monica and Friends:

The Mind, when free of bias, acts in logic like a mathematical
equation in use, and whatever basic data it receives is used to
produce a result true to that information. If misinformation is given
to it, it produces a magnified error.

If by positive thinking you mean idealism, virtue, honesty, sincerity,
constructive generosity, then you are dealing with the psychic
motivational side of decision making. In that case I would say that
great care to make those bases impartial, impersonal, fair,
and just will produce constructive and ecologically viable concepts
and plans.

Such things are most useful in planning, whether it be our own lives
or the relations we conduct with others.

The rules and laws of brotherhood are to my mind that of "positive
thinking."

H P B and Theosophy is entirely based on the ecology and universal
motivation of LIFE in the Universe viewed from the point of view that
every being in it is inherently immortal, spiritual, and capable of
infinite improvements as its knowledge and wisdom grows. Our lives
are, essentially the progressive stepping stones in that educational
process.

Hermes Trismegistus said: A stone becomes a plant, a plant an animal,
an animal a man, and a man a God. Progress is always forward, wider,
deeper and with greater knowledge and consequent responsibility.

Best wishes,
Dallas

Dallas and group,

What does HPB say about the power of positive thinking? I trust you,
Dallas, not to give me the "rose-colored glasses" version.

Thanks in advance,
Monica
