Re: Theos-World Germany: to protect or not to protect?

I have followed this discussion with much interest though it seems
somewhat far removed from Theosophy.

1-Mueller was indead retained as Gestapo chief. In 1943 Hitler realized a
major dream of him by finalizing the consolidation of all German police
agencies under a central department. This was the RSHA or Reich Security
Main Office headed by Himmler's #2 man Richard Heydrich. The Gestapo
became one department in this organization, alonf with the SD
(Intelligence Dept) the Kripo (Criminal Police) and the Orpo (Order
Police).
Mueller was in attendence at the infamous Wanasee Conference where these
SS leaders, Heydrich, Mueller, Eichmann presented the "Final Solution" to
the occupation governors. Nice bunch!

2-While the Third Reich was clearly a tyranny and the US is a republic,
there a analogs to these various German groups, at least in basic
function. The SD relates to the CIA, while the Gestapo is equivilant to
the FBI. The Kripo is all the state and local detective departments,
while the Orpo is the traffic, crowd control, etc. Until now we have had
no analog to the RSHA. But now we have this proposed new federal
department to oversee all internal security. Hmmm...

3-Recent polls have indicated that most Americans are willing to
sacrifice a portion of their freedoms for greater security. yet all the
leader recognize that while we may stop terrorists here and there, some
will get through. If a little (in size) nation such as Israel can't stop
the almost daily terrorist attacks, how can we?

4-In our individual lives, we also look for security in part. But it is
never really there. We try to safeguard our homes, but fire, flood,
tornados and earthquakes and quickly brush that all aside. We try to
protect our loved ones but ultimately all are taken. Financial security
is likewise a perilous thing. And as for love...

5-So what does Theosophy teach in this regard? Why are we so anxious to
protect Maya? What can we do to overcome this?
