Meg,

I can totally sympathize with your impassioned statement.
I've been there. Lots of us have.

Take a deep, deep breath.

The community you look for exists, some of it right here on this list. It
also exists in the hearts of all those around us.
Compassion is the key. Being what you wish to become is the best example and
will draw you to the right ones.

Being who you wish to become feeds the hungry.

The Dalai Lama, when questioned, simply said, "Mine is a religion of
kindness."
That suffices.

We can talk about anything here. Please do.
There are very learned and experienced people on this list.

My immediate suggestion to you is to meditate. Find some guidance that
resonates with you, perhaps some practice lineage, and go within.

You are what you are seeking.

Love,

-- M
