"THE PURSUIT OF SELF-KNOWLEDGE" (series)

Aug 15, 2002 11:53 AM
by Compiler

This series of articles from THEOSOPHY magazine, offered as
supplementary reading, will hopefully prove to be very useful and
helpful to everyone -- and especially to all newcomers and fairly new
students of life who are diligently and open-mindedly searching around
for as much truth and reliable ideas and information concerning the
nature of all reality that they can find:

===============================================
THE PURSUIT OF SELF-KNOWLEDGE (12-part series):
-----------------------------------------------
[The 1st link is to the article itself. If you
happen to see it broken on your system because
of its length, the short 2nd link goes directly
to the particular section on the "Additional"
articles Index page where it's found, entitled:
"Newcomers: You Can't Go Wrong Starting Here!".
This section is the first one of the 18 different
sections on the page (that's why it has the #1 at
the end of the link to it). Each section has a
link down to it, which link you can get when you
click on any particular section found at the top
of the "Additional" articles index page, under the:
"Links Down to the (18) Sections on this Page" heading.

In wanting to be truthful, I want everyone to know
that I have sent this message to myself so that I
could send it as a "blind carbon copy" to a number
of different lists and groups without publicly
naming them all. You will find my explanation
for this after the next section of links.

You may find a great deal of the Truth that you
are searching for here:

WisdomWorld.org web site (Main Page):

This is the Index page of the "Introductory",
"Setting the Stage" book, which was especially
compiled for newcomers to Theosophy:

The page where "Additional" articles are slowly
being added:

PUBLIC & PRIVATE ENTERPRISE: This next link is
to the most updated version of my economic-project
proposal to humanity, a practical project to help
our suffering humanity that I also consider to be
Theosophical. In it you will find a new and unique,
but mostly unknown, economic system model that
might be able to put an end to involuntary poverty
on earth. How? It presents a way to fully finance
everything of importance that is needed in every
nation. Because of this it's well worth pointing
to. Please note that, for strategic reasons, of
wanting it to have the best chance of being
accepted by all peoples worldwide, no matter
what their religious, philosophical, and
scientific beliefs are, I've put it on a
completely different web site; it contains
no mention of, or link to, the Theosophy and
the Theosophical Movement that is presented
on my WisdomWorld.org web site:

After reading my various explanations here, if any owner or moderator
wants me to stop sending my periodic messages to your particular forum,
which I won't do too often, trying very hard not to get in the way of
ongoing conversations, or be a pain in the neck, or be intrusive, please
contact me and let me know so that I can immediately delete your forum
from the list.

I have decided to try and play a part in being helpful to everyone in
this way: Even though I don't have the time to take part in
conversations myself, I do have a little time to provide some useful
information in each periodic posting, offering a selection from the many
articles and series of articles on my WisdomWorld.org web site.

I send this message only to various discussion groups (17 received this
posting) that I steadily find whose teachings and/or teachers, and the
many other people in history that they speak of concerning their
particular group's focus, such as sages, philosophers, scientists, and
religionists, from very ancient times up to more recent times, are
spoken of and included in the growing number of articles and series of
articles on my web site (now up to 1,377 -- as of this particular
posting).

I do not take part in conversations any more, as I did on a few groups a
while back, because I now only try to be somewaht useful and helpful to
searchers by sending a periodic message to a growing number of groups
such as yours, as well as searching for appropriate new groups to add to
the list; and because I'm now too busy focussing on and spending most of
my time trying hard to introduce and present my mostly unknown "economic
proposal" to humanity, both in my own community and around the whole
world. I also continue to scan and proofread new articles to add to my
web site.

I do this because there is so much profound and important material that
I have compiled on it for the many people in these various groups, who
get this periodic message that I send, to run into.

My main motive for sending a periodical message is to make sure that
newcomers who may have signed up and joined any of the groups, since my
last posting to it, get to know about this very important
WisdomWorld.org resource -- and so that regulars are kind of reminded of
it.

To check and see see if any particular subjects and/or teachers and
people that you are interested in are spoken of on my site, there are
only two main index pages that get you to everything (the links to them
are above), as well as a search engine on the "Additional" articles
Index page that is only for finding things on the site.

I want everyone to know, including the list and group owners, that as
you read and find things on WisdomWorld.org, and you decide that you
want to, from time to time, or as often as you care to, point anyone or
any group to the site, to any article and/or series of articles, in
order to possibly get a discussion going about the things pointed to, or
for any other reason please feel free to do so. This is one of the
reasons why the site was put together, and is even mentioned in its
mission statement.

Finally: I will most likely be, little by little, editing and rewriting
this list of things, trying to make it better and clearer as I think of
things.--John.
