Dear Gopi:

Love and Kindness are not defined by any selected "religion." They
are UNIVERSAL. They are Brotherhood which we can put into action all
the time. It is nothing "special." it is ordinary prudent and
friendly brotherly behaviour.

We need only imagine that we are immortal souls and incarnate
repeatedly in various families, various religions and various races.
If this is mentally grasped then differences disappear and we act as
though w are members of one family: THE HUMAN RACE.

The basis which Theosophy emphasizes is: is that we are all bathed
in our single universal SPIRITUAL SOURCE. The "God or Gods" are not
"out there." They are inside us and in all beings in the same way.
The Universal and impersonal God for all is ATMAN -- the WISDOM OF
EXPERIENCE is ONE FOR ALL -- it is BUDDHI. The capacity to act
righteously and kindly, is ONE FOR ALL -- it is MANAS the Higher, the
spiritual MIND.

In our daily lives we view things as separates -- in the spiritual
life all things are ONE.

We need to understand this. Then we need to practice brotherhood all
the time.

The virtues express ways of practicing that brotherhood.

As I see it, it is no more difficult than that.

Best wishes,

Dallas

PS

But, all the effort has to be self-generated. No one else can do it
for us, nor can we pay someone else to do it or to provide us with
secret information.

Spirituality cannot be bought. It has to be looked for, studied, and
then practiced individually.

In doing that we "purify" ourselves. Read the great ancient tales and
legends of India. Study the Upanishads. Devote time to reading and
understanding PATANJALI's YOGA SUTRAS and the BHAGAVAD GITA , you and
everyone else can greatly profit form that if carried on
systematically, day by day, devoting a small portion of time to this
truly SPIRITUAL EFFORT. After some months the difference will be felt
and seen, and will become obvious in one's daily outlook and living.

You will find that they are all based on this one single concept.-- it
is the purification of the lower, personal and selfish self, and
making it DIVINE by our own efforts.

Dear Dallas,

My Buddhist Monk friend calls it Love and Kindness.
If you could expound on the Theosophical interpretation it would be
great. May be it steps into Bhakthi Yoga.

Thank you.
Gopi
