Non fiction in no particular order:

The American Civil War (I had four great great-grandfathers in that
conflict, tow came home, two didn't)

Local History, the Catskill Mountain Area (because this is home)

Nature studies, especially about birds (I indentified over 60 species at
my feeders)

Most books about the newest scientific developments (like to keep
informed)

Books by ultra-conservatives, like Rush Limbaugh (unlike most of you,
except maybe Bart, I'm an ultra-conservative myself)

Fiction

Star Wars series (it's just cool)

the Merchanter universe of CJ Cherryh (it's deep and more realistic than
most)

The Dune Universe of Herbert (very involved)

The Pern universe of McCaffery (I just like long series)

Tom Clancy (was he somewhat prophetic?)

Grisham (some interesting legal plots)

Tolkien (the master of fantasy-for when I need to sink even deeper into
Maya that this world seems to offer)

Robert Jordan (the newest fantasy master AND tied to cycles and
reincanation)

and...the Harry Potter stuff (because I'm a kid at heart, wanted to see
what the appeal was and then needed to find out what happens)
