Dear Friends:

Lots of children in the world outside of the U.S.A. and its
neighbouring countries, never have heard of Santa Claus.

In Europe it is St. Nicholas who brings gifts to children and on quite
another day Was it November 6th ?

America and American festivals are virtually unknown elsewhere Who
ever heard outside of the US and its close neighbors, of
"thanksgiving" and immolating the Great Turkey?

Why tell children lies at any time? They have a bad enough time
realizing that their elders including parents frequently don't mean
what they say.

Then, considering that most children view their elders with some
respect (and even fear, for their superior strength) we blame them
when we find they have picked up our own bad habits in mis-dealing
with words and hidden meanings.

Does that not confuse them further?

They may in some cases, seek to please us, and they then also begin
telling lies (lies they have seen us do and say) either for that
purpose, or to avoid some immediate punishment. For even little
children know when they have "done wrong," and they fear the physical
punishment or deprivation to which they will be subjected. Sometimes,
such "punishments" are arbitrary, and even if there is faulty, or no
logic, they cannot be appealed. Is this reminiscence from a previous
incarnation ? Is this a punishment from Karma ? As a child this is a
most confusing state of affairs.

It is also children's experience that if they are honest, fair and
direct, this is not appreciated by their "elders" who themselves are
tarnished with the weakness and cowardice, and, of a lack of courage
to face their own faults, -- and then they see those elders resent
being exposed by "children" who have no strength to physical or tribal
status, to back them up. So the child gets punished for being direct
and honest. Confusing ? Check your memories and see if this is not
common experience ?

So why beat around the bush? Speak and accept the truth by whomsoever
spoken.

As to the MASTERS. Why should not ancient men have made themselves
wise? Why are not modern men and women trying to become wise? What
constitutes wisdom ? Why should not the SPIRIT survive the death of
many bodies if that persists? How old is OLD ? Are immortality and
experience limited? How ? Why should the idea of those who antecede
us be repugnant? Are all the great men and women of the past to be
thrown out of our consideration? How did they get to be that way?
Why is their mark on time so valid ? Why is honesty and truth so
respected, and lie so dishonorable ?

How would a physical, material body (and its intelligence) go about
seeking to find for evidence of the presumed or mythical "SPIRIT ?"

What is it that it (the body of material substances) cannot explain to
itself? Its own existence? The Laws of Nature, its purpose, and the
purpose of individual living?

Are these questions totally insoluble? Are they to be discarded? Who
and why were they originated? Who got curious about those things?

Can we frame a logical questionnaire concerning such an investigation
that starts from some UNASSAILABLE cause?

Where does matter originate?

What is it constituted of?

What has science discovered in its examination of the basics and
sources of matter?

What do chemistry and physics show they have discovered ?

Why does the Mind inquire ?

If we can assemble a reasonable structure of inquiry without any
prejudices of any kind, what would it look like ?

Best wishes,

Dallas

Subject: Bad Karma plus immoral plus ignorant

To whom this may concern: Is it or is it not bad karma, immoral and
ignorant to tell a young child there is no Santa Claus? Is it valuable
and important and natural for this child to believe in the existence
of Santa Claus? Moreover, IS there a Santa Claus, and are there really
elves and fairies? Everyone who is really anyone knows the answer to
this one.

Moreover, are there actually masters, both living and "dead" (who are
still alive)? I, personally, who have done much experimentation with
the occult, am here to suggest that It is perhaps both bad karma and
even dangerous to pursue this line of questioning of Madame Blavatsky
and the so-called derivation of the masters any further, as, in
respect to this, the die is already cast. Perhaps the physical
universe is constructed in such a way as to offer an explanation for
the "masters" that is both miraculous and also mundane

Remember to sprinkle everything with just a little bity of salt, not
too much and not too little. This has more to do with bread making
than with magic. With this in mind, we can get down to the five-
minutes -at-a-time Work of mastering a situation which is most
problematic, life on earth, in such a way that something within is
raised gently to heaven without losing touch with both the physical
earth and also an inner earth or ground.

If you sense or feel a master by your side as you are going about your
day and attempting to make a certain bread, keep your mind on your
hands kneading the dough and do not worry about the masters or
not-masters. In this way, simple daily activities will take on a
greater significance and everything will assume a shape that is
already its own star, Home. Wry
