Thelemic takeover conspiracy

Dear Terrie,

Guess I'm too dense to see the signs, but the idea that there is even one Crowleyite here on a secret mission strikes me as unlikely; the idea that there is a gang of them conspiring to undermine Theosophy by undermining theos-talk seems wacky. Since the last time I suggested to someone their conspiracy theory struck me as wacky, I was immediately accused of being the entire conspiracy in question, this kind of talk makes me uncomfortable.

There is some history behind Dallas's posts denouncing unnamed *groups* of supposed attackers of HPB that also gives me reason for concern, although rereading the recent one in question it does strike me as pretty innocuous. I'm tired of being held responsible for other people's posts, either accused of writing them (Brigitte's, Brian's, and the Swami's, by Wry) or sharing moral culpability for them (Brigitte's, by Dallas.) Not that in this case I think you mean that I'm in Thelemic cahoots with Wry. But you apparently think *someone* here is. And the whole business of accusing people of being in cahoots with others and sharing responsibility for their posts does pollute the atmosphere IMO. What you have written will inspire people to hunt for the Crowleyite witches-- certainly has got me wondering who it might be and what signs you see of such infiltration.

I would urge that people neither make coy accusations of unnamed anti-theosophical conspirators, nor outright accusations naming individuals, without being willing to produce *evidence* to support same. It makes Theosophists in general look nutty to have such stuff flying about here.

But if you do have evidence, my curiosity is definitely up!

Cheers,

Paul
