If my memory serves me right, the group that contested this action by the
Mormons was a Holocaust Survivers group as the Mormons were using the
lists of holocaust victims and doing the vicarious baptisms in their
behalf. It was argued that since these 6 million died solely due to their
Jewishness, which they did not give up, hide or in any way compromise,
that to "baptize" them into any form of Christianity was a mockery of all
they endured. Understandable to say the least!
