Steve

Part of my intent in reponding to these "Mormon" questions as I do is a
long abiding belief of mine that when we study comparative religions, we
should always go to the source and try to understand as they do.
Detractors often offer clues for follow-up but I've found should never be
the final word. This is true if we are looking into Mormonism,
Catholicism, Buddhism, or K and Leadbeater. As I just happen to be the
resident ex-Mormon, I naturally jump in on that topic.

BTW, if you really ever get into the meat of Mormonism, you should look
into it's own former "esoteric section, " a church within a church, The
Church of the First Born together with the doctrines of Calling and
Election and the Endowment Ritual. That's where it's really all at in
Mormonism, though few will speak of it openly.

Also, did you know that Mormonism once including not only religion but
economic and political wings as well. All under the umbrella of the
Kingdom of God, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was
mearly it's ecclesiastical arm, while the United Order and Law of
Consecration and Stewardship served as the economic arm, while the
Government of God, led by the Council of Fifty served its political
needs. All interesting stuff.
