All,
One thing I might add as far as the ancient records viz Manetho and
others, an
excellent compilation can be found the Dynasties of Egypt and other early
civilizations together in one volume:

"Ancient Fragments" by Isaac Preston Cory, full title
"Ancient Fragments of the Phoenician, Chaldean, Egyptian,Tyrian,
Carthaginian,
Indian, Persian, and other writers; with an introductory dissertation:
and an inquiry into the Philosophy and Trinity of The Ancients"
By Isaac Preston Cory Esq. Fellow of Caius Coll. Cambridge
Secret Doctrine Reference Series
Wizards Bookshelf, Minneapolis, Minn.
Lib. Cong. Catalog # 74-78000
ISBN # 0-913510-11-4

In addition to the fragments of Manetho on Egypt there are also the record
of
Chaeremon, Diodorus Siculis, Lysimachas, Polemo, Ptolemaeus Mendesius,
and Artapanus.

I recommend it.
