BHAKTI ANANDA GOSWAMI'S 1-11-03 SUMMARY AND REPLY TO VARIOUS
QUESTIONS ASKED BY THEOSOPHISTS
PART 2

IN THE BELOW SUMMARY THE MW PAGE NUMBERS GIVEN ARE FROM THE 1979
OXFORD EDITION OF THE SIR M. MONIER-WILLIAMS SANSKRIT-ENGLISH
DICTIONARY. THE NUMBERS IN () ARE TO REFERENCES BELOW THE PAPER IN
THE REFERENCES SECTION.

Beyond the Macrocosm and Within the Microcosm

Beyond our finite universe, the Vaishnava Vedas and Puranas present
the Origin of countless universes in MAHAVISHNU and His Feminine MAHA
TATTVA (Magna / Maha 'Great Truth) Causal Waters, and beyond THAT the
greater, truly infinite and transcendent 'Spiritual Sky', and the
PARAM DHAMAN (Domain) PARADESHA or Padma (Lotus) Paradise, the
Original Abode of Shakti and the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Sri
Krishna is thus revealed as THE JEWEL IN THE LOTUS Who is DHAMANE or
Dominus, the Lord of all sets or Dhamas or Domains, and His Padma /
Lotus Adi Shakti, the Supreme Dhamini, is Inseparable from Him. In
(5) Icon 1, Maha Vishnu is seen in the Maha Tattva 'Causal Waters'
manifesting an infinite number of finite universes. Through the Maha
Tattva the self-effulgent Spiritual Sky is glimpsed, where the ADI
PURUSHA PURUSOTTAMA Sri Krishna / Meghistos Kouros (the Supreme
Personality of Godhead) reveals Himself in union with His Shakti as
Padma / Lotus. In this Icon Sri Krishna is inviting souls to stop
bothering themselves with cosmogenesis, and to come home and play
with Him.

Thus the cosmogonic revelation of Purusha Yupa Dhvaja in the Vedic
Hymns is not the 'ultimate' of the Vedic-Vaishnava Revelation. In
the Vaishnava Vedas and Puranas, the Cosmic Sacrifice of Purusha and
the corresponding dharmic (holiness of life) sacrifice of the
microcosmic man is described. The pralayas, manvantaras and vast
cosmic days and nights of a single Brahma and single universe are
described in detail. However, our universe and our Brahma are
considered insignificantly small as compared to other universes !
There are stories of our universe's Brahma beholding countless other
universes' brahmas as they approach Maha Vishnu (their Origin) in
supplication ! The manifestation of EACH cosmic Brahma from
Garbodaksayi (G) Vishnu (see Egyptian Helios Phanes from Nilus), has
its source in G Vishnu's own Source, Maha-Vishnu. Maha Vishnu creates
all of the infinite number of finite universes, and then G. Vishnu in
each universe creates each Brahma within each finite universe. The
creative Yoga Nidra of Maha Vishnu outside of the universes within
the Maha Tattva is described in the Vedas and Puranas. The Biblical
creation story begins with the Spirit of God on the Waters. These
waters in Hebrew are MAYIM (Genesis 1.2). The Maha Tattva or 'causal
ocean' of Maha Vishnu is also His Shakti Durga in the Form of MAHA
MAYA ! From the Maha Tattva, Maha Vishnu outside of the universes
emanates into each universe as G Vishnu, the Cosmic Visva Rupa
Purusha Form, and all His subsequent Guna and Lila etc. emanations
and incarnations, including the Cosmic Brahma. Further, each
physical or organismic set or body within a universe is also
understood to have an organizer or POST of brahma in it, animating it
as the PRESIDING JIVATMA OF THE SET. Thus the finite jiva-self
ruling over the human body-set is the 'Brahma' of that set. Dear
Reader, YOU are the 'brahma' of your own body-universe. ''As above
so below' in the self-sacrificed macro-cosmic Body of PURUSHA, the
DEVAHS are associated with His Head, Limbs, Trunk, Legs, Breath,
Mind, etc. and in the microcosm of man, these devas also exist
presiding over the same features and functions. As Garbodaksayi
Vishnu resides in the core / heart of each universe / cosmic
manifestation, as the HOLY SPIRIT of the Macro-Cosmic Body-Universe,
in the microcosm, the same Lord Vishnu resides at the immanent heart
of all microcosmic bodies as PARAMATMAN THE IMMANENT HOLY SPIRIT.
Thus in His Bhagavad-gita Sri Krishna says "I reside in the hearts
of all beings".

The jivatmas are NOT the Paramatma as the Advaita Vedantist Mayavadis
claim. The jivas and GOD are distinct as Persons or Purushas and
finite jivas. In the Vedas and Puranas even the Persons in the
Godhead are distinct, so for Vaishnavas, it is not difficult to
understand the eternal personal existence of the finite jivatmas in
relationship to the infinite Deity Paramatma. Beyond this universe
and all material universes, and beyond the Maha Tattva and even the
Vikuntha Lokas (Planets) of the Transcendent Spiritual Sky, where the
infinite Forms of Sankarshana (Vishnu) are manifest as the Catur-
Vyuha etc. (Narayana, Vasudeva, Hari etc.), the ADI PURUSHA dwells
with His ADI SHAKTI. The revelation of this Original and Supreme
Mother Shakti and Father God is described in the Vaishnava Bridal
Mysticism of Sri Sri Radha-Krishna. The Mediterranean version of this
mystical Tradition is earliest evidenced in the Minoan Era worship of
Helios and Rhoda as Meghistos Kouros and Rhoda-Kore on their sacred
Lotus Isle of Rhodes in the North East Mediterranean. There They
were called Rodos and Roda. This is the DODA Bridal Mysticism
Tradition of the Song of Songs in the Judeo-Catholic Tradition.

On Rhodes, HERU's / ELI's / HELI's first emanation and Hierophant was
ASU / YAHU / OS or OSIRIS. Baal-Yahu (the authentic Dionysos) was
the Source of all the multi-form of HARI / HERU / ELI / or HELI-
KOUROS. Thus in Vedic-Vaishnavism, the ADI PURUSHA (see Pure Land PL
Buddhism) Hari or Krishna first manifests as YAHU / Baladeva (also
called Vasudeva or Sankarshana), then in all His subsequent primary
emanations of Sankarshana. These are all the Emanations and
Incarnations of Vishnu (PL Buddhist Avalokiteshvara). Sankarshana's
(Bala Deva's) origin in Krishna or Hari is described in the Puranas.
Bala Deva is the SECOND PERSON OF THE VAISHNAVA TRINITY OF KRISHNA-
VISHNU-PARAMATMA and the Source of all the Forms of Vishnu (PL
Lokeshvara). Sri Krishna Alone is the ADI PURUSHA (Dharma Kaya HRIH
in original Pure Land Buddhism) and all His Emanations are through,
with, in, and by Bala Deva. The great antiquity of Vasu Deva or Bala
Deva's worship in relationship to that of Hari / ELI can be seen in
the use of B'L, BAAL or BEL as a by-name for YAHU (the alter-form of
ELI) before and through Iron Age II B in Israel (Page 205 Gods,
Goddesses, and Images of God in Ancient Israel
by Othmar Keel, Christoph Uehlinger (Contributor), Thomas H. Trapp
(Translator), Arbeitsgemeinschaft Der Deutschsprachigen Katholischen
Alttestamentler ). Yahu Theos (Toba-Yahu) is Vasu deva. Compare
also the Hebrew Y for Sanskrit V in such words as Yishma and Vishnu,
Yeda and Veda, Yish and Vish or Vas.

The Vedas in the Context of the Puranas

The Vedic Hymns cannot be understood without reference to the
Vaishnava Sattvic (canonical ) Puranas, which context them and
explain them. HPB begins her presentation of the so-
called "Stanzas of Dzyan" with a partial translation of the Rig Vedic
Nasadiya Sukta Hymn, one of many 'Creation Hymns' in the Rig Vedic
Anthology of over 1000 Vedic Sanskrit Hymns to Purusha in His Cosmic
Multiform. (6) ON THE BOTTOM OF PAGE 2 OF HIS TRANSLATION OF THE
VEDIC HYMNS ("...MANTRAMANJARI..." FULL REFERENCE BELOW), PROF. R.
PANIKKAR, IN VERY FINE PRINT, EXPLAINS THAT HE HAS TRANSLATED PURUSHA
AS "MAN". However see also Purusottama, the Supreme Being as Krishna
or Vishnu on Page 887 Panikkar. The practice of translating the
Vedic Supreme Deity Name Purusha as 'man' is in accord with the late
atheistic practice in the extreme Advaita Vedantic Mayavadi
Tradition. In the earlier and authentic theistic Vedic Vaishnava
tradition, the Deity Name Purusha, like Purusottama, is understood as
refering to Vishnu or Asurya, the Supreme Being, Supreme Spirit and
Soul of the Universe. To properly understand the Vedas, it is
necessary therefore to study them in the context of the Vaishnava
Tradition of exegesis, including the Puranas.

The Vedic Hymns are written in an early form of Sanskrit. Linguistic
and astronomy-based speculations on the date of the Rig Vedic Hymns
of the Hotri Priests of Purusha range from about 1500 BC to 10,000 BC
and some other extreme dates as given below at (1) . The Rig Vedic
companion text, the Sama Veda, belonged to the Saman Priests. Saman =
Psalmos in Greek and Zemrah in Hebrew. Like Vedic Sanskrit Rig Hymns,
Sama Hymns were also composed in stanzas. Most of the stanzas in the
Sama Veda were borrowed from the Rig Veda (see page 31 Panikkar).
Purusha Sukta is considered by many to be the oldest, or at least
one of the oldest Hymns in the Rig Vedic collection of over 1000
Vedic Sanskrit Hymns. The Purusha Sukta has some similarities with
the Nasadiya Sukta, which HPB introduces the "Stanzas of Dzyan"
with. However, the Purusha Sukta is far more explicit and detailed
about Purusha (Vishnu's) primal sacrifice of creation. In any event,
the pantheistic, polytheistic and atheistic interpretations variously
given to the Vedic and Puranic teachings by HPB are from much later
Buddhist (circa 500 BC) and Advaiti Shakarite (800 AD Shaivite) and
still much later Sikh (circa 1500 AD and later) teachings. She used
the Vishnu Purusha-centric Vedas and the Puranas extensively in her
writings, but like the atheistic Buddhists and Mayavadis before her,
systematically removed devotion to the Personal God Vishnu from what
she used.

HPB claimed that the "Stanzas of DZYAN" were from a lost SENZAR
language. One should note that the Tibetan and Tamil (South Indian)
languages do have a 'z' sound and the Hebrew words for PSALM / SAMA
are variant forms of the word ZEMRAH. However, the Vedic Hymns are
in an early Sanskrit, and there is no 'z' sound at all in it or in
classical Sanskrit. The question then arises whether the
supposed 'Senzar' version of the Vedic-Puranic tradition HPB referred
to as the "Stanzas of Dzyan" actually was some 'z' language-
associated version. The Vedic-Vaishnava Sanskrit texts were
translated by the ancients into many languages, for instance, into
Tibetan and the languages of China, Korea and Japan.
Although it is possible that HPB's source for the Vedic and Puranic
Stanzas was some text in 'Senzar', I doubt it. I think she obscured
her Sanskrit Shastra sources to cover the fact that she was
misrepresenting them. Previously under Theravadin Buddhist
influences, she had condemned the "Shasters" and their God, and later
finding them fascinating, she had to invent another source for the
teachings she wanted to appropriate from them. She wanted divine
revelation without the Deity Who was its source. The origin of the
Stanzas is left purposely vague and they are clearly meant to be
unobtainable for direct study. Why? Why has no Theosophist ever
been able to produce them ? Outside of the Sanskrit Vedic-Vaishnava
Literatures or their later Buddhist and Shaivite versions,
the 'Stanzas' of Dzyan had apparently had no existence. To maintain
the sui generis illusion of her teachings, HPB had to obscure her
first-hand and second-hand reliance on the Theistic Bhakti Shastras
of Vaishnavism.

Blavatsky's Devas Without Krishna-Vishnu Deva-Deva, the God of Gods
and His Feminine Shakti

The Vedic Hymns extolling Purusha as the origin of all the cosmic
manifestations (with atmas, devas, elements, kama, karma, artha,
jnana, yoga and moksha etc.) summarized the beliefs and worship of a
monotheo-centric culture in which the ONE SUPREME GODHEAD as the
TRIUNE 1.TRANSCENDENT, 2. EMANATING-INCARNATING 3. IMMANENT PURUSHA
was experienced and described as pervading (VISHNU) all the spiritual
and material worlds with His infinite Emanations and Incarnations.
In His multi-form as Purusha, the masculine Supreme Giver, He was
always accompanied by His Eternal Beloved PRAKRITI in Her multi-form
as the Supreme Receiver. Thus the doctrine of the creative dynamism
of Divine Giving and Receiving (Love) is essential to the
ancient 'Bridal Mysticism" of Purusha and Prakriti. The primal Vedic-
Vaishnava doctrine of Purusha and Prakriti can be recognized in
numerous related thought systems (7).

The Vedic-Vaisnava Purusha & Prakriti (Asura & Asuri compare Egyptian
ASAR [Osiris] and ISIS) = Puranic Vaishnava Radha & Krishna, Hari
(Krishna) & Hare, Hari & Harini, Hari Shaktiman (Vishnu) & Shakti,
Narayana & Narayani, Vasudeva & Vasudevi, Yauvana & Yauvani etc. =
Shaivite and Shakti traditions Hara & Shakti or Shiva & Shakti = Pure
Land (Mahayana) Buddhist HRIH and Shakti (Tara, Kuan Yin etc. ),
Tibetan Yab & Yum = Taoist Yang and Yin = Confucian Father Heaven
and Mother Earth / Nature = Semitic and Biblical ASAR-YAHU and
ASHERAH (see Purusha & Prakriti as ASURYA & ASURI above), Eli-Yahu &
Shekinah, (or ISHISH, CHOKMAH or QUEEN SABBATH, etc.) = Egyptian
Heliopolitan HERU & SEKHET, ASAR & ASERAH (OSIRIS AND ISIS) = Greek
HELIOS KOUROS & Rhoda / Kore and Their manifestations as the royal
Basileos and Basilea, Zeus POLIEUS & TYCHE, Zeus & Hera Meghistos
Kouros & Kore = the Roman Jupiter Juvenalis & Juno Juventas. Thus
the Theos and Thea Supreme 'God and Goddess' and Their expansions or
emanations and incarnations as various 'gods and goddesses'
throughout the ancient world were all part of the same primal
EMANATIONAL AND INCARNATIONAL MONOTHEISTIC RELIGIO-CUTURAL SYSTEM.
This one RIG VEDIC RELATED ancient religious culture was also
predominant AT A VERY EARLY TIME in the Mediterranean Region, and
endured there through the Intertestamental Period emerging as
Heliopolitan Asclepian-related Platonic Catholicism and fragmentally
later in forms of Platonic Gnosticism, Hermeticism, Kabbalah and
Sufism. This is why HPB could recognize similarities between the
Eastern Indian-related and the Mediterranean Purusha & Prakriti
Traditions.

However her hostility to THEISM in general, and her contempt for the
Judeo-Catholic Traditions in particular, prevented her from grasping
the true significance of the apparent connections. In a similar
manner, the blinding religious prejudice of the early Christian
European Sanskritists and Indologists prevented them from seeing or
fairly describing the otherwise very obvious connections between the
Vedic-Vaishnava (and related) Tradition (s) and their own Judeo-
Christian tradition (MW ix). Especially the Anglo-Germanic
Protestants were burdened with a vast number of prejudices due to
their centuries of rabid anti-Catholicism. Thus they dismissed
the 'idolatrous' PERSONALISM of the living Vaishnava and Vaishnava-
related BHAKTI TRADITIONS as unworthy of serious study and
understanding. Because the earliest and most important Sanskrit
Literatures that they wanted to study were all VAISHNAVA TEXTS, these
scholars were then faced with the task of editing or interpreting
the 'idolatrous' deity out of them. In this they had the help of
centuries of Eastern forms of atheism, which had flourished precisely
by appropriating teachings from the Vedic-Vaishnava Sources and
Tradition, while leaving its Deity out. So in keeping with both the
atheistic / iconoclastic Eastern Traditions of extreme Advaita
Vedanta and Theravadin Buddhism, and sympathetic Western anti-
Catholic iconoclastic Protestantism, HPB used the Vedic-Vaishnava
Texts like the Vedas and Vishnu Purana, but systematically edited and
interpreted MahaPurusha, the Triune Personal Godhead out of them. She
even went so far as to claim that her "Theosophy" was the original,
pure teaching, and that the personal God and doctrine of His
Incarnation were "charlatanesque imitations of Occultism and
Theosophy. . . . By pandering to the prejudices of people,... '

Subject: "charlatanesque imitations of Occultism & Theosophy"

Even Madame Blavatsky believed there were "charlatanesque imitations
of Occultism & Theosophy" during her lifetime.

Therefore, are some Theosophical students on Theos-Talk contending
that since 1891 there have been no other "charlatanesque imitations"
of Theosophy?

Here is what HPB wrote in 1889:

". . . A new and rapidly growing danger. . . is threatening . . . the
spread of the pure Esoteric Philosophy and knowledge. . . . I
allude to those charlatanesque imitations of Occultism and
Theosophy. . . . By pandering to the prejudices of people, and
especially by adopting the false ideas of a personal God and a
personal, carnalized Saviour, as the groundwork of their teaching,
the leaders of this 'swindle' (for such it is) are endeavoring to
draw men to them and in particular to turn Theosophists from the true
path."

". . . A close examination will assuredly reveal. . . materials
largely stolen . . . from Theosophical writings. . . [and] distorted
and falsified so as to be palmed off on the unwary as revelations of
new and undreamed of truths. But many will neither have the time nor
the opportunity for such a thorough investigation; and before they
become aware of the imposture they may be led far from the
Truth. . . . Nothing is more dangerous to Esoteric Truth than the
garbled and distorted versions disfigured to suit the prejudices and
tastes of men in general."

So HPB, who used Vedic-Vaishnava Shastras in a
completely "...distorted and falsified" way, to "..suit the
prejudices and tastes.." of herself, was concerned that others would
do the same thing with her own writings !

Thus it was that HPB Began her presentation and explanation of the
STANZAS OF DZYAN with some unidentified verses from the Vedic-
Vaishnava Rig Vedic Hymn, the Nasadiya Sukta, but did not acknowledge
the God of the Rig Veda, or pay any respect to any authentic
Vaishnava Tradition of the Veda's transmission and interpretation.
Below at (6) I have included HPB's version of the Nasadiya Sukta,
along with a contemporary translation of the full Hymn by Prof.
Raimundo Panikkar (compare hymns ).

After clearly identifying with Theravadin Buddhism in the "Mahatma
Letters", and condemning (8) ) the "Shasters and Orthodox
Brahmanism"..."Fakirs, Sannyasis and Saddhus...", namely the
('idolatrous' Personal, Theistic) Vedic-Vaishnava Tradition, HPB goes
on later in her THE SECRET DOCTRINE to present the same "shasters"
she had previously condemned, under the guise of her "STANZAS OF
DZYAN". Her copious use of the Vaishnava Vedas and Puranas to
comment on the Stanzas is something she cannot however hide (9).

Vedic and Puranic Evidence from The Secret Doctrine

I have asserted that HPB used the Sanskrit Puranas, (the Bhakti
Shastras or theistic devotional Scriptures), especially those devoted
to Krishna-Vishnu, to write, and explain / comment on the obviously
Vedic-Puranic STANZAS OF DZYAN in her SECRET DOCTRINE. Previously I
used a key search word analysis of THE SECRET DOCTRINE to demonstrate
this. However I did another search of the 1997 INDEX TO THE SECRET
DOCTRINE by John P. Van Mater, and have found that using his INDEX
has proved far more helpful in supporting my assertion than my
previous search. To illustrate this, here are the results of a few
key word searches (9). Also note that the STANZAS OF DZYAN subjects
(included in the (9) Index excerpt below) come from the Vaishnava
Puranas. In my opinion, the STANZAS are simply HPB's summary of
Vaishnava Vedic and Puranic teachings interpreted through her
Buddhist, Advaitan and other esoteric / occult 'Wisdom' (Gnostic /
Jnana) studies. After such a blanket condemnation of the "Shasters"
in the Mahatma Letters, compare the extensive OVERT use she makes of
them in her "Secret Doctrine". She could not avoid identifying
the "Shastres", but she could edit the Personal Supreme Deity Vishnu
or Krishna out of her presentation. She could simply ignore Him or
explain Him away. Thus the Krishna of the Bhagavad-gita is NOT a
transcendental personal GOD, but is an adept, a mere Theosophist !
She apparently learned to do this from the Advaitis like Subba Row
that she associated with.

Some Additional Monier-Williams Sanskrit-English Dictionary Notes to
the Below

MW 121 says that ASURA, in the Rig Veda is from the root AS. This
means it is NOT to be confused with the word for demon A-SURA. The
SURA-SENA or SURA-GANA worshiped SUREH or HAREH therefore the A-SURAS
were the anti-Sura or against the worship of HARI / SURA. SURA was
a dialect form of HARI (LIU, OLU, ELI, ALI, ARI, URI, ORI, SOLE,
HELI), see HARIH HARYEH, SURYA, SUREH, SURIH and the BUDDHIST HRIH
(ADI BUDDHA DHARMA KAYA AMITABHA, CHENREI ZEI LOKESVARA, EARLIEST
MASCULINE 'KAUN YIN', KOREAN KWANNON, JAPANESE SHO KANNON), SURYA,
HELIOS, HERU-ASU, HORUS, SOLEUS etc. THE SURA GANA worshiped Krishna
or Vishnu, thus if SURA=HARI, then SURAGANA = HARI-JANA or HARAYANA
(aryan) , Hellene, Syrian, Hurrian, Elohima, Hrym, Solana, etc.

For the Primal Holy Name from the Bija (root) AS / VAS / AH / YAH
etc. see MW 121 ASURYA RV ii,35,2 THE SUPREME SPIRIT. The root means
TO BE, EXIST, ABIDE, REMAIN, DWELL MW 159. Compare the root VAS MW
932, TO BE EXIST DWELL LIVE . See MW 160 ASURA spiritual divine RV
[demons a-sura]. ASURI is the feminine of ASURA. Compare the West
Semitic ASAR-YAHU and ASHERAH and Egyptian ASU and ISIS. MW 992,
Rig Veda VISVA Name of Krishna-Vishnu as ALL-PERVADING, ALL-
CONTAINING, OMNIPRESENT [THE VISHVE DEVAH OR VASUDEVAS ARE EXPANSIONS
OF VISHNU OR 'LIMBS' OF THE MYSTICAL BODY OF THE RV PURUSHA SUKTA
PURUSHA]. See also Vishva Rupa, Virata Rupa, and Jagganatha. MW 999
VISHNU means the ALL-PERVADER. Although MW admits VISHNU
is 'identified with the supreme deity by his worshipers', and that
His 1000 Deity Names are enumerated in the Mahabharata, MW still
presents a corrupt description of Krishna-Vishnu in his Christian
Missions objective influenced Dictionary. MW ix states that the
purpose of the Oxford Sanskrit Department and his Dictionary was
the "...conversion of the natives of India to the Christian
Religion."

So between the Westerners and Easterners trying to demote or remove
Krishna-Vishnu-Paramatma as the Supreme Godhead from His Sanskrit
Scriptures, the West has developed an idea about 'Hinduism', which is
wholly erroneous in the extreme. HPB and the Western Esotericists
collaborated in this a-theistic abuse of the Vedic-Vaishnava Sanskrit
Sources. Thus today we have both an exoteric and esoteric Western
misconception of Eastern Traditions.

(6) FOR YOUR COMPARISON BELOW ARE BOTH PROF. R. PANIKKAR'S AND HPB'S
PUBLISHED VERSES FROM THE RIG VEDIC HYMN THE NASADIYA SUKTA.

Prof. R. Panikkar's Version

NASADIYA SUKTA - RigVeda

At first was neither Being nor Nonbeing.
There was not air nor yet sky beyond.
What was wrapping? Where? In whose protection?
Was Water there, unfathomable deep?
There was no death then, nor yet deathlessness;
of night or day there was not any sign.
The One breathed without breath by its own impulse.
Other than that was nothing at all.

Darkness was there, all wrapped around by darkness,
and all was Water indiscriminate, Then
that which was hidden by Void, that One, emerging,
stirring, through power of Ardor, came to be.

In the beginning Love arose,
which was primal germ cell of mind.
The Seers, searching in their hearts with wisdom,
discovered the connection of Being in Nonbeing.

A crosswise line cut Being from Nonbeing.
What was described above it, what below?
Bearers of seed there were and mighty forces,
thrust from below and forward move above.

Who really knows? Who can presume to tell it?
Whence was it born? Whence issued this creation?
Even the Gods came after its emergence.
Then who can tell from whence it came to be?

That out of which creation has arisen,
whether it held it firm or it did not,
He who surveys it in the highest heaven,
He surely knows - or maybe He does not!

Nor Aught nor Nought existed; yon bright sky
Was not, nor heaven's broad roof outstretched above.
What covered all? what sheltered? what concealed?
Was it the water's fathomless abyss?
There was not death -- yet there was nought immortal,
There was no confine betwixt day and night;
The only One breathed breathless by itself,
Other than It there nothing since has been.
Darkness there was, and all at first was veiled
In gloom profound -- an ocean without light --
The germ that still lay covered in the husk
Burst forth, one nature, from the fervent heat.

. . . . . . . .

Who knows the secret? who proclaimed it here?
Whence, whence this manifold creation sprang?
The Gods themselves came later into being --
Who knows from whence this great creation sprang?
That, whence all this great creation came,
Whether Its will created or was mute,
The Most High Seer that is in highest heaven,
He knows it -- or perchance even He knows not."

"Gazing into eternity . . .
Ere the foundations of the earth were laid,

And knew no change, when time shall be no more.
Oh! endless thought, divine ETERNITY."

(8) CONDEMNING THE SHASTRAS, HPB / HER MAHATMAS BROADLY DAMN THE
VAISHNAVA LEADERS AND IDENTIFY
THEMSELVES WITH THERAVADIN BUDDHISM.

"Mahatma Letter No. 134
http://www.theosociety.org/pasadena/mahatma/ml-134.htm

[Letter from H.P. Blavatsky to A.P. Sinnett. This letter includes a
message from Master Morya.]

Dehra Dun. Friday. 4th. "

... " It is useless for a member to argue 'I am one of a pure life, I
am a
teetotaller and an abstainer from meat and vice. All my aspirations
are for good etc.' and he, at the same time, building by his acts and
deeds an impassable barrier on the road between himself and us. What
have we, the disciples of the true Arhats, of esoteric Buddhism and
of Sang-gyas to do with the Shasters and Orthodox Brahmanism? There
are 100 of thousands of Fakirs, Sannyasis and Saddhus leading the
most pure lives, and yet being as they are, on the path of error,
never having had an opportunity to meet, see or even hear of us.
Their forefathers have driven away the followers of the only true
philosophy upon earth away from India and now, it is not for the
latter to come to them but to them to come to us if they want us.
Which of them is ready to become a Buddhist, a Nastika as they call
us? None."
