Dear Munise:

Re: Lodge work.

I think you are right about "Universal" being everywhere at once.
Also, are we not at the center?

I once heard it said that it (the universe) was a sphere with
centre everywhere and circumference nowhere. In other words
there were no physical limits such as we are accustomed to. The
Mind usually accepts the idea of endlessness in both time and
SPACE with difficulty. Some cannot and others seem to perceive
it with the "Intuition." Those who study "metaphysics" find it
easy to understand this -- why?

Traditional education everywhere starts with the power to
remember and to translate this memory to the fingers -- to
memorize and draw the basic alphabet (and associate those with a
sound, or sounds), And then there are numbers, and their simple
rules of use. Ad to that the construction and measuring of
simple geometrical figures. Those have to be remembered and we
learn to draw them and pronounce them. Everything else is
memory: -- history, geography, sciences, literature, music, art,
crafts, agriculture, hydraulics, engineering, architecture,
electricity and magnetism, etc...

If we have a good retentive mind -- one that retains images and
sounds, we are said to be high grade students. But the
possibilities of such retention vary with students. Those who
remember poorly are said to be at the bottom of the class. What
makes the difference -- internally?

But how and where do we find any active and well planned training
in thinking?

How is thinking developed? Has "attention" as a faculty been
considered ?

Is there not a difference between memory and creative thinking?

Memory is plodding the same old grooves. Creativity is a great
leap into the unknown, sometimes.

Buy there has to be a basis. Should this not start with the LAWS
of Nature all around us? Once our attention is drawn to them, we
can see them operating for ourselves (if we are interested) --
Some are not interested, and so they remain ignorant, while
others shoot ahead. Way is this? why the difference in the
motivation, and interest of students?

Some like mathematics and geometry, and others find those
subjects most difficult. Some can draw and paint, and others
seem to lack that faculty, or have it only weekly.

The physical is one thing, the emotional is another and the power
to think is a third factor. But all three are ruled over and
used by the will of the Real Person inside. This Real Person
( WE) directs and places the Mind on whatever subject it chooses.
How is this done?

Sometimes, I have noticed in myself that when I want to know
something I force my attention and my mind to concentrate on
those things that are already known, bring them together for
consideration, and then I make an effort to apply the laws of
correspondence and analogy. Is this your experience? It has been
mine, and thus, I find that I teach myself.

What is "intuition?"

Best wishes,

Dallas

Dear Katinka, Dallas, All:

What I had thought after reading responses to my mail is that
people can
differ in time by their approaches to what is called "universal",
they can
be at different points of "universal" as a concept depending on
the culture,
knowledge, experience. That seems it is important to :
---"Catch the time when it seeks you" (or something like that as
Sheakspeare
said I guess)
---Understand what people mean by training (particular to this
case).
Learning methods differ a lot on the range from self learning to
general
traditional learning. What I didn't think before is that people
may try to
reach to the learning objective by traditional learning methods
which they
know best. I rather have a self learning perspective. Why not
having
different colors? (when people are ready)

Thanks
Munise
