The full programme of this year's event has now been published on
www.theosophical-society.org.uk

There is likely to be controversy about the origins of HPB's teachings; not
only are old opponents Jean Overton Fuller and R.A. Gilbert in attendance,
but Nicholas Goodrick-Clarke will argue for the western roots of HPB's
teachings and Leslie Price for Tibetan ones.

Kim Farnell, whose biography of Walter Old disclosed his later Pentecostal
conversion , will introduce her forthcoming new book on the secret lives of
Mabel Collins and name for the first time her second husband. Doubts about
the genuineness of the Bowen notes on SD study may be voiced by TS librarian
Barry Thompson. Dr John Algeo will chair a session in which two Japanese
scholars attempt to explain why Theosophy had mixed fortunes in Japan.

Although Paul Johnson will not be present, a paper by him in absentia deals
with the problems encountered by historians who write about religious
leaders in ways that believers consider heresy.

During a time of relaxation on Saturday evening, students of royal history
will eagerly await the revealing of the identity of the clairvoyant
Georgiana Eagle, who supposedly amazed Queen Victoria in 1846.
