Dear Mauri

Dallas re references re footprints

The reason is plain.

Established academic Science tries to limit itself to the
theories made by its pioneers of 100 or more years ago and does
not fully recognize the advances made in certain areas, because
it upsets those.

There is a record of neglect and non-consideration starting as
early as H P B's days.

Science when it confines itself to the description of facts
cannot be challenged.

When Science begins to theorize about the sources and antecedents
of present day conditions often goes astray because all they have
to base themselves on is PHYSICAL matter relicts, artifacts,
etc...

Call it a series of educated guesses. But they are still
guesses.

H P B devotes much of the 2nd half of the 2nd Vol. of The SECRET
DOCTRINE to demonstrating those errors in many areas, She was
not popular !

The "descent of man" is a crucial one. In the 1870/1880 period,
De Quatrefages demonstrated that the Man skeleton could not have
"descended" from that of an ape.

The Ape is a specialized form. The Man skeleton is primitive,
and is therefore under the law of development, it has to be prior
to that of the ape. One of the laws of descent shows that a
primitive form cannot be descended from a specialized form. The
Ape skeleton is shown to be SPECIALIZED, and is descended from
man, skeleton, physiologically. That upsets the Darwinian
theory. S D II goes into detail on this. But it has not been
pursued by Science.

In the early 1900s Charles FORT wrote several books [THE BOOK OF
THE DAMNED, LO!, etc...] full of facts and reports taken from
observations on the spot and reported in local newspapers. These
were reports of strange phenomena all over the world, that
science neglected (or concealed), because they did not conform to
accepted theories and hypotheses. There continues an active
"Fortean Society" in New York which continues to record such
anomalies for the past 80 or 90 years.

In the early 1940s Immanuel Velikovsky wrote several books,
[WORLDS IN COLLISION, AGES IN CHAOS, Etc...] He was castigated
by the scientific community. Macmillans, the textbook publisher
originally was the publisher of those books. The Scientific
community in its wrath at being challenged and was forced to give
up publishing it under threat of being thereafter excommunicated
by the world of science and thus it would become unable to
publish scientific texts. There is a whole history of this
pressure available. Quite extraordinary. The findings and
objections of Velikovsky have never been completely and carefully
answered. Silence reigns.

Since then we have the author Von Danegan (spelling?) 1960/80,
who has written on a number of unexplained anomalies around the
world and illustrated them with photographs, dating, and other
pertinent data. Science was invited to explain these.

More recently we have had John Anthony West publishing about The
Age of the Sphinx. said to be over 13,000 years old due to
erosion by water of the statue. Geologists support the evidence.
Egyptologists who would have their theories upset reject it. The
conflict is ongoing.

There are several other books by the same author, as for
instance, one deals with the layout of the terrain in the delta
region of the Nile, from Giza North, which seem to show they
constituted a replica of a star-map showing the constellation of
Orion and the main stars around him. The great Pyramids seem to
represent the 3 stars of Orion's belt., etc., etc...

Also contemporary, is a massive volume: FORBIDDEN ARCHAEOLOGY
by Thomas (?) in which evidence is advanced challenging the
theory and dating of man's arrival in the Americas from Asia over
the Behring straight "land-bridge". It has been followed by a
surprising account of the reception given to this book by the
Scientific community. Apparently a number of "digs" have
revealed the presence of man (determined by relicts in deposits)
far earlier than approximately 25 to 35,000 BC . This of course
upsets the scientific dating.
I have noticed that main-stream Science tends to ignore these
questions.

But Science is not entirely immune to change as mathematical,
atomistic and astronomical advances follow the discoveries being
currently made and verified.

As year shave passed some remarkable discoveries have forced
changes and advances.
There is a whole field out there that is open to inquiry, and
ought to be considered valid and needing good answers.

The Theosophical theory of evolution covering vast periods of
time, several planes of being and Force, and cycles,
reincarnation and the psychology of the "soul," needs to be
attended to seriously.

I am sure Leon Maurer will be able to add to this.

It might be a good idea to start a chapter of inquiry into thee
things and accumulate more date and reference material.

Best wishes,

Dallas

Thanks, Dallas, for the references, but don't you
think that some people may wonder why it is that
mainstream science hasn't made more of a deal out
of such things (among other things)?
