One word about the Wikipedia. It is generally an excellent document, and I have yet to read any article in it with which I have serious disagreements. However, in order to judge the articles, I recommend that people read this page, which contains the official (and correct) explanation of how articles get into the Wikipedia:

I have no idea how they manage to do such a good job with controversial issues, but their sysop policy (there's a link to it on the aforementioned page) probably has a lot to do with it.
