re forms of initiation

Quote (about initiation) from SD per Dallas:

<<In Egypt it was placed in the Sarcophagus in the
King's Chamber of the Pyramid of Cheops and carried
during the night of the approaching third day to the
entrance of the gallery. where at a certain hour the
beams of the rising Sun struck full on the face of the
entranced candidate, who awoke to be initiated by
Osiris, and Thoth the God of Wisdom...[see the
bas-reliefs...especially from the temple of Philoe,
represents a scene of initiation.] SD II 558>>

But seems to me that a key aspect of initiation would
involve some kind of what might be called "initiative"
on the part of the initiatant. The way I tend to see it,
the nature of any initiative or initiation (or initiatary-
ness?) would seem to depend on the nature of our
karmic background that, in turn, might allow for
whatever "Broader" realizations or "initiations" in
whatever sense. But apparently some of those ancient
Egyptians weren't content to have less dramatic and
more ordinary locations for their initiations, so what
does that tell us about their karma and the nature of
their personalities? Seems to me that some of those
pyramidal initiatants might've been suffering from
some form of magalomania, or ... ^:-\ ... whatever ...

Speculatively,
Mauri
