Hi all,

Well, it seems that only Dallas sort of agrees with my understanding
of karma, though he does not go into it very deeply, preferring to
give a moral lesson instead.

For me karma is simply the law that any action (on whatever plane,
whether physical, emotional, astral, mental or even I suppose higher)
has consequences on the universe and that those consequences will
come back to the person who originated them.
This is why the mahatmas could not ORDER Leadbeater to go to India,
as then the beneficial karma would go on their account instead of his
own.
Karma is for me also the fact that what we put our energy in, will be
the direction of our growth and change (of the personality - or even
of the dissolution of the personality). So that if I am fascinated
with numbers and mathematics, even if I am not very good at it, but I
keep observing, explaining people what I do understand, reading,
studying, practicing - then all that effort and energy will lead to
my 'gaining' a brain in a next life which is very good at
mathematics.

That is just the general gist of it, as I see it. Now for the
question of whether HPB's karma could be interfered with - that is a
different issue. First we would have to understand what it means to
interfere with somebody's karma. One way of putting it is that one
interfere's with somebody's karma if one forces them to start
believing in something they did not already believe in (through
hypnosis for instance), thereby causing a completely different set of
actions than that person would have otherwise done. This means in
effect that the skanda's of that person have been (without
permission) interfered with.

In the case of HPB her will wasn't tampered with. She was given the
choice to go on as she had been and then when she said: yes I want to
go on, they invested energy in her in order for her to make it
possible to go on with the work she had taken on. It was a karmic
investment so to speak, done for the wellfare of humanity. Still, I
don't think they interfered with her karma, and they certainly did
not go beyond it (which I think is impossible. Any action has
consequences, and eventually will come back to the actor; this must
even be true for the sort of karmic interference I mention above).

Katinka
