Unfortunatelky I cannot check my memory because the matter was of zero interest to me at the time and I discarded all the documents I received. My recollection is, the leaders defended themslves on the ground that ACT was a bunch of fired TSA employees. That seemed entirely credible to me at the time.
Oh, that I can say for sure is not correct. I think there may have been one or two fired employees, but there was a large cross-section in ACT; that was probably part of the problem, because all they had in common was an agreement that things were not good as they were.

Theosophy is so complicated that years of study are required to understand it, and that guarantees it will never have many devotees or exert much influence.
Actually, it has had quite a bit of secondary influence. Unfortunately, the handwriting on the somewhat controversial Mahatma letter where it says that Theosophy will be a "cornerstone" makes it hard to read whether it says "of the new religion" or "of the new religions". The latter is certainly coming true.
