It may sound wise on the surface, but are you the ultimate definer of wisdom and what "a real wise person" will do or not do? What you say is likely good wisdom for 99% of the situation. The kicker being that 1% into which the enlightened may or may not fall- iow, let the wise decide.
I think the opening phrase, "perhaps it would not be unkind to say" answers your question.
