In the "Concise Dictionary of Judaism" edited by Dagobert D. Runes (1959) it
states Zionism: "Movement to re-establish State of Israel. Term used in
1886 by Nathan Birnbaum. Always in Jewish thought and prayer; fore-seen by
Spinoza . . ."
I am not trying to teach my grandmother to suck eggs here, but just happened
to look it up the other day.
I would be interested to know more, and am under the impression that
Zionists are about a state of Israel as a Country, but that there are other
(do they have a name) Jews who see it as a state of Consciousness. Is
there anything in this?

If HPB would have taken a Zionist Jew in to her inner circle, it would
have been a miracle. Zionism didn't exist until 1897.
