I wonder if that is a metaphor. In the ancient Kabbalah, when Enoch
was "translated: he was somehow transformed into the angel Metatron,
whose reward, if you can all it that, was to sit with a quill and
parchment furiously scribbling down everything we say and do so it
can be used against us in the Day of Judgement. I can;t believe that
is literally true, or that it was intended literally, so suspect it
is some sort of metaphor.
