Since the reason is "crazy," how can anyone argue with that? :-)

But, the "basic idea" is not the same as dissembling or beating around the
bush about it.

Too bad you don't know how to explain theosophy to any "Westerner" (to put
you back in context) without catering to their own prejudices, religious
beliefs, and wrong views -- so that it won't "confuse the hell out of them."

The whole idea of correctly explaining to a believer in a personal God (only
when they ask) the truths of theosophy -- such as karma and reincarnation in
their own correct context -- is so it won't confuse them, but WILL scare the
"Hell" out of them... And their "Heaven," too -- along with their personal God
and his tyrannical disposition, carnalization, vicarious atonement,
resurrection, etc.

HPB never pussyfooted around in telling "them" (including some Jews,
Christians, and all the rest of the blind believers) what theosophy's all about, and
where its coming from and going. So, why should we? (Unless we just don't
know what theosophy is, or how to explain it to ANY serious inquirer.)

Besides, all one needs to know is the Three Fundamental Principles upon which
it is based... Something that could be stated in three pithy sentences --
leading to further questions that can be easily answered. What's confusing about
that?
