Daniel Thanks for your comments.

I also agree that there are 3 theads, as you call, in the life of a theosophy student.
But the aim of my message was not to diminish such efforts like yours for example, who really is great on all the documentation and the rich source that the site has raised these years not even to diminish the importance and the versatility of a Yahoo! e-Group.
I just thought that we were giving too much emphasis on particular details that would not lead us to any conclusion.
If you take a close look at some Olcott writings you´ll find many other fantastic and hard to believe phenomems quite more illustrative than the possibility of that "pseudo-pre-preparated tea-up " possibility.
See for yourself the many episodes in which Col. Olcott reminds many materializations/transofrmations that HPB did, specially in chapter XXII, named "several Phenomena" from the book Inside The Occult: The True Story Of Madame H.P. Blavatsky.
No matter which branch of the above-mentined "threads" we choose and work on, the enquirers and newcomers need certainty and to nosing around for fails and fakes won´t make our convictions higher although it´s a healthy way to reach the truth, although we cannot count on any other source except with what is written down in books and our opinions .

Krishtar,

Thanks for your posting at:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/theos-talk/message/17053

I would like to briefly respond to part of your posting
which reads:

=====================================================
What if one of us here got some evidence that that
Madame could have prepared the trick for some reason,
would it make us undersand better her message or
could it help us to make a better living with a
better application of what we learned from Theosophy?
Would it descredit her teachings? We are all old now,
more than half-a-century left behind us, and most
of us here are not teenagers anymore, and if we
insist in raising the same old eternal questions
about truth/fake..there must be something really
wrong with what we did with theosophy´s study up to now.
=====================================================

Krishtar, as I see it, you are writing about three
different "activities" if I may call them as such:

(1) historical research/investigation/discussion of H.P.
Blavatsky's life and in this instance her
occult phenomena;

(2) H.P.B.'s teachings (her message); and

(3) "a better application of what we learned from
Theosophy."

There is no reason why students of Theosophy (for
example, any of us here on Theos-Talk) cannot
pursue all three endeavors or activities, if we
choose to either online or in other ways offline.
Why must we choose only one or two endeavors.
I personally am interested in all three subjects.

Naturally, some students may be interested in
one activity more than another. I see nothing
wrong with that either.

And on this forum there is no reason why different threads
of conversation and discussion on all three activities or
even other subjects couldn't be going on at the same time.
Why not start a thread on the subject that seems most relevant to
you.

And the nice thing about a Yahoo! group is that you
do not have to receive any emails from the group to
clutter up your email box. You can visit the website
of this group when you want to and choose those threads
and postings that are of most interest to you.

Concerning your specific statement which deals with
"the same old eternal questions about truth/fake..",
some students may be naturally interested in these "eternal
questions." Possibly a new student/inquirer may
consider these issues of some importance. Others may
not. If you do not find these discussions of interest,
ignore them and as I said above start one that is more
to your liking.
