Re: Theos-World Hooray!

Hi Raghu,

I know too many muslims to be able to agree with you on this. Muslims
don't usually justify violence. Jihad can easily be interpreted as the
spiritual war within: against bad tendencies. To call 'them more more
evil than good' is to put all Muslims on one heap. Islam is as diverse
in its followers as Christianity is. Bin Laden isn't even really a
Muslim (by the usual definition) because he doesn't practice the food
laws and all that.

The basic belief of Muslims is:

'There is only One God, and Mohammed is his prophet'

That is the core of Islam and that certainly doesn't include Jihad.
Jihad isn't even amongst the five pillars. See:
http://www.islam101.com/dawah/pillars.html

A reasonable description of how Islam relates to Jihad and terrorism
is given at:
http://www.iiie.net/Brochures/Brochure-33.html

Further: as a theosophist you really should have studied Islam a bit
more before coming to such drastic conclusions as the below.
