Invocation
May my speech be fixed in my mind, may my mind be fixed in my speech! O self-luminous Brahman, be manifested to me. O mind and speech, may you bring me the meaning of the Vedas! May what I study from the Vedas not leave me! I shall unite day and night through this study. I shall think of the right; I shall speak the right. May Brahman protect me, may Brahman protect the teacher! May Brahman protect me, may Brahman protect the teacher!
Om. Peace! Peace! Peace!

Aitareya Upanishad
Like WQJ and others, especially in the ULT, I believe that ancient Theosophy is still consummately valuable to us today. The Vedas and Upanishads, as well as the Bhagavad-Gita, were some of the wellsprings of HPB's and other early Theosophist's thoughts and inspiration. I am not know as "aupanishad" for nothing. I still find that inspirations from the ancient lands and ancient Eastern religions are supremely important to our lives today. Yes, we do have "proof texts" also, but they are not theological revelations. They come from the earliest Masters of the race of humankind, and must not become dogmatic or "fundamentalist" in any religious ("church") sense.
