Hi Daniel,

This is all nice and dandy and yes, Algeo deserves credit for the
worldwide hunt, but it doesn't adress a few glaring facts (once you
notice them anyhow - I love the book - that is not an issue)

- Cooper also did a lot of work and the very fact that he did it
earlier when letters were probably in many cases at least a bit less
difficult to read and had not fallen apart as much makes it really a
pity that his work couldn't be used / wasn't used.
- At least a few previous findings of letters were not reported. It
really is great that Algeo went back to the original sources where he
could, but other historians found those sources first and though Algeo
mentions this a few times, he also forgets to mention it a few times
(see the Deveney article). Makes you wonder what other mistakes he
made in this respect.
